Do you have a seperate blade for this purpose, or do you use the blade for wood also? How many teeth per 1" ...
Cheers

aviaamator reacted to FishnRod in G'day and thanks from Canberra
Hi folks thanks for the site, I'm very impressed.
I'm not new to modelling, I first started as a young fella about 45 years ago, making plastic WW2 aircraft and armour.
I gave for many years while I had my career in the Royal Australian Airforce.
I've left the service and decided to take my hobby back up. I started again on WW2 armour and aircraft with the goal to get my skills up to take on a wooden tall ship. Primarily the ships that have historic importance for Australia.
I mainly work on 1:35 armour and dioramas. My skills with plastic and paint are not first rate but quite good. Friends and family are all impressed, so that's all that matters.
I've recently bought Artesinas Endeavour Long Boat and the Endeavour itself.
I'm using the long boat as a familiarisation to the concepts of wooden ship building. I hope it works out for me.
I've begun the Long boat model and completed the frame and initial decks.
I've now got to shape and round the bow and begin the planking phase. Any advice on this stage, before I stuff it up, would be great.
Anyway, wonderful to be on the site and hope to be part of great hobby group for years to come.
I hope to hear from some of you soon.

aviaamator reacted to dafi in Micro Power Splice
Halleluja, praise the heavens!
Why? Because also small things can make me happy :-)
Looking back: A year ago I was already working on the improved gunport lids but had a grandious failure on the gunport tackles:
Looks like a ball of hair straight out of the shower plughole :-(
These days I broused through Gil Middletons wonderful Jotika-Victory and dicovered the splicing that he presents there:
(Edit: Later I discoverd this in use by many others too!)
We proudly present: The Powersplice
It is simple but effective:
Thread - here 0,3 mm - through the ring, neadle through the thread, it is more easy than it looks ...
... make tight, secure with a drop of glue ...
... and once more through it with feeling ...
... pull thight and ...
here we are!
Great, isn´t it???
All the best from a happy Daniel to all of those who showed it before!
