michael mott got a reaction from billocrates in Bristol Pilot Cutter by michael mott - 1/8 scale - POF
Starting the back of the galley now.
It is easier to work on it outside of the hull, l am amazed at how nice the maple that I cut from the big log 50 years ago still works and planes up with such a lovely lustre. I’m guessing it is because it has been air dried.

Thanks Tom I appreciate that. Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. I did some more work on the galley and have soldered the top to the sink and used the sheet metal drill for the drain pipe.
I have given the wood a good coat of tung oil and will give it another coat later.

Just need to solder the top lip on and drill the hole for the drain the the sink should be ready, presently the countertop is at 28 1/2 inches I am wondering if it is a bit too low.

At this scale, probably the only thing that needs to be done is to pop the head off of a champagne cork and you’re good to go. 😉

I've been away for a bit, so I missed out on your news, Michael. Glad to see you back working on your wonderful model, but even happier to hear that you've recovered from your problems.

Thanks for all the positive feedback..... after sleeping on the decisions about the cushions this morning I tried a new approach with some differedt foam and backing boards.
The next series of pictures are self explanatory.
And yes I am switching to the green because it is softer and more forgiving , The last picture shows the seat and back cushions as different patterns the backs will be the same as the new seats.

Hi WalrusGuy?
I am using a fairly small Canon SX730HS and it has a flip mirror screen I just sat i on a block of wood or in this case a jam jar.
I like the flip screen and have used the timer and then just held it in my hand as well
