  1. In the mid-1950's Israel became alarmed at the growing strength of the Arab armies, especially in the growing numbers of Soviet supplied tanks. As a partial solution, Israel and France teamed up to develop a modified Sherman tank mounting a high velocity 75 mm gun, as used on the French AMX-13. The first of these arrived in time to see action in the 1956 Suez Campaign. Over the years, the M-50 Shermans were modified with more powerful engines and HVSS suspensions, enabling them to soldier on through the 1967 and 1973 wars. This build will model one of the later modified M-50 Sherman versions from the 60's through the 80's.
  2. We can dirty it up in a diorama. Anything I do now might not match the diorama terrain. Since this version is part of the Normandy 1944 campaign, need to do something that fits this time frame. I have a Stuart light tank, but not sure it was used at Normandy. Maybe a Sherman.
  3. After the "finished" photos were taken, realized the windshield wipers have not been added yet. I'll add them after these photos are published. Have not decided for sure, but may do a diorama with this recovery vehicle and a tank. Going to think it over and see what I can come up with.
  4. Thanks guys. It's done freehand with an airbrush. You get your paint thinned down at something like a 3 parts paint to 7 parts thinner. Then you turn down your air pressure to around 12 - 14 lbs. and make light use of the airbrush trigger.
  5. I took that photo with a flash. Here, I used the same photos and adjusted the light in photo editor. Do these look any better?
  6. Oh c'mon....nothing wrong at all about saying something about the tires. Nothing to feel bad about at all. If you are following something I build, I always want to hear comments from those watching, particularly if you think there is something I can do to make the model better. No offense taken and I hope you always feel free to make suggestions.
  7. Need to find something suitable for cable, to rig the winch and boom. In the home stretch now.
  8. And if you go to the :31 second mark of this video, it appears the rear tires are mounted as mine are as well...so I don't know. Flip a coin.
  9. I don't mind if you make a suggestion...too late. They are glued down and will probably destroy it trying to remove them. The good news is, at least one other online build has them mounted in the same direction as mine. 😂 Interesting if you look...the box art has the front tires mounted same as I have them.
  10. You're saying that because you're a Marine. I know you sleep with your rifle. Me too. 🙂
  11. What a great looking boat. Really looking forward to seeing your build on this model.
  12. Will need to install windows before the top can be glued down. Next, will finish up the painting of the tires, install them and the front fenders.
  13. No joking, when I was in high school, there were boys who drove pickup trucks to school with shotguns hanging in their back windows. 😄 Saw it many times. Mass shootings were unheard of, and no one gave it a second thought.
  14. Great project Yves. Those wheels are gorgeous! In 1972, I rebuilt this 450 Honda. The 450 was a huge step up from the CB350, the dual overhead cams made a big difference. Standing beside me is my older brother who helped me with the project. He and I were both motorcycle fanatics.
  15. She's a beauty, a very worthy tribute to your Dad.
  16. If you mean cab interior of the Scammell, those are the butt ends of a rifle rack. Rifles are yet to be added, under construction/painting.
