You could try buying an A4 size sheet of white water slide decal paper to cut and create the stripes. I have a stack of the decal paper from a company that has since gone out of business, but it's very opaque and works well for projects like this.

Adding pieces to finish out the cabin interior floor.
I ordered a set of resin radio components that fit in the center racks (between the seats) from a vendor in Taiwan over a month ago. Unfortunately, they have not arrived and may be lost in the mail. I shall continue with construction regardless, but wish the pieces had arrived to further enhance the cockpit.

Cheers Craig that is not something I had thought of. Have to admit the challenge of doing it the hard way with paints is also appealing... Why make things simple when they can be complicated...😄

And thank you for your compliment.

Small update. Seats paint and fitted in interior along with dash.
Car bonnet also painted. Need to start thinking about the two white stripes.plan is to use tape to mark stripes out and then start sanding carefully to remove gloss coat from red paint. Knowing that white doesn't have generally great coverage properties I'm thinking of putting down a coat of grey first to try and keep the number of coats down.
Might try it on car bonnet first so that if I need to strip the paint and start again at least it will be a small part!

    Thanks for looking in.
    Cheers

Can't wait to see your build log on this one, Mike. You always build some of the most unique models we ever get the pleasure of seeing here on MSW.

I met with Randy, (I won't post his last name), he is a not too local model builder today to take possession of a Seaspan wood chip barge as well as numerous other items, plans, templates of his past builds. He has retired from the ship modeling hobby and the hobby is less for it because he is in my expert opinion one of the best model builders I have ever met. I consider myself to be above average in building skills, but he is way about my skill set. So when I had the honor of meeting with him today, I was a bit tongue tied and awestruck. I could have talked to him for days and probably still be as awestruck as I was this afternoon.

I hope for the modeling hobby he has a change of heart down the road.

The Seaspan Barge is 4 feet long and actually has holes cut into the bottom of the hull to allow it to self ballast using water WOW! It also has a second interchangeable deck, which has a crane on it as a transport hauling barge. The crane was damaged sometime back, so I will have to see about fixing it to bring it back to all of it's glory. A R/C Tug boat owner should love to have this setup.

I was car savvy, but the problem with many of these cars was a lack of spare parts availability. Just couldn't buy them locally and it took a LONG wait to order parts from Europe. VW's had a huge part availability network locally. That in my opinion made the VW the superior car.

I can do better than that in a few days...I ordered the Abrams Tusk kit and it's on the way, should be here next week. Does not include the interior with the version I ordered.

It just dawned on me that the finish you are working with is Uschi polishing powder.
A couple of years ago, there was another modeler on this forum who wrote a brief post on how he used the powders to achieve a brilliant finish on a model. I have not seen a post from this modeler in quite some time and I cannot recall his screen name to do a search. I recall that he was a WW1 Fokker D.VII fan and his screen name may have been Vossie Wolf, or something close to that. Maybe some of the guys reading this will remember who I am talking about. Anyway, if i remember correctly, he had unlocked the secrets for getting the most out of Uschi powders.

Indeed it is fully detailed. Lots and lots of little parts to be added and painted. I'm guessing there are close to 800 parts in this kit.

    This one?

I think your going to like it.....
I could have picked up the full interior version, but I passed on it as well...

The tracks alone look to be several hundred parts... (probably an exaggeration, but they do look like that much)
