Coffee mugs
Keith Black replied to bushman32's topic in NAUTICAL RESEARCH GUILD - News & Information
Kurt, I wasn't even thinking about coffee mugs in my previous post. I was thinking about NRG's current inventory and how it doesn't seem it fair that you and Mary are burdened storing those item. Thank you for your willingness to do so. -

I knew the NRG office was in your home so I figured that lack of space was the issue. I also assume that all NRG items currently for sale are stored in your home? if that's the case it's not right that your home has to be used as the NRG warehouse. I'm aware of the NRG's tight budget but having ample space to store NRG merchandise outside your home is something I feel is an issue that should be addressed and that we the NRG membership should be given the opportunity to financially support maintaining a space outside your home to warehouse all NRG merchandise and any non merchandise NRG items needing to be stored. I for one am sorry I never considered the sacrifice you and Mary have made over the years in this regard as it never crossed my mind. my apologies. -

Kurt, is it a lack of space to store the inventory or lack of money to procure the inventory? -
How much would an unbuilt Airfix St louis kit be worth?

I guess I'm a bit daft but why consider buying a ZHL model kit at all, directly or indirectly? Since ZHL doesn't offer a unique model kit just purchase the desired model kit from a legitimate manufacture. No matter the initial cost, taking the high ground always pays off in the long run.

Barncave Shipyard by mbp521 - Scale 1:1
Keith Black replied to mbp521's topic in Non-ship/categorised builds
Brian, that looks great. Since the Chaperon takes up most of the shelf space it sits in, wouldn't it make some sense to just let the shelf space act as a case and front it with a piece of plexiglass? -
Congratulations, Rich. It's an amazing and pleasing model.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
