Pat...you are the only one on the planet who will be able to identify the heritage of the rigging line. Your authenticity up to this point has been nothing but stellar. Museum quality had been in your rear view mirror for some time now....I want to see some progress......As you know...I'm the epitome of impatience...can you help me with that? Absolutely great drawings Rich. But if I was to add any criticism, it would be that her right arm is too long for her body. From her shoulder to her elbow is out of proportion and from her elbow to her forearm is out of proportion. Chisel them back a bit and you are spot on. Other then that...great 3-D rendering. The physical form is the most difficult for me to replicate. I was only able to partially pull it off...because of the extreme small scale. And still I made ample mistakes...that are forever unretractable. Cuz I ain't going back. I'm anxious to see what Vlad does...short of buying his version from a collector......😎 Rob

Keep pushing ahead Vlad...you can do it. Just make yourself some small goals...don't look at the big picture...stay small and you then can get more done. Small victories. See...I work on the forecastle and the head first.....then I'll move on to the next small task and then the next small task and so forth. I break construction down into tiny bits....and tackle those bits by themselves. If I didn't....looking at the the build entirely will cause me to either become suicidal or homicidal. 🤪 I'm building this girl to completion....hull...masts....rigging. I will be foregoing the sails on this one....because she will be modeled as if she is moored...(Held over), if you will. Like her San Fran image. Rob

Pat, it truly isn’t clear. I used photos of her with her anchors mounted and deduced what system might have been employed, during her era. The release mechanism used that is fixed to the cat head is not evidenced on Glory. I came up with the logical conclusion. IMV. Rob

One anchor is in the temp stowed position and the other is hanging from the cat purchase. I thought the various positions would lend to avid discussion when viewing her. Rob

Spent a little time working the starboard anchor purchase and adding the iron fairleads.

Doris is a true artisan.......her sculptures are indescribably magnificent. She does use a heat curing clay like material. Truly wonderful. Hey Vlad..one other thing I noticed on your bowsprit. I believe you said you are going to rebuilt it...well, I suggest you correct the sprit CAP. It is not vertical as some caps are. If you look at the pic of Glory at pier side, during her conversion....draw several lines out from the main mast toward the sprit cap. Make those lines the same length...then draw a line vertical down at their edges(Just a grid). You will see that the sprit cap is NOT vertical but leans back and is actually at a right angle to the sprit and jibboom. Some photos give the illusion it is vertical. I noticed this when you made the original bowsprit, but failed to mention it. Sorry. Rob

A little money spent now can save a lot of expense later..... However, the Group that owned her wanted FAST money now and foresight was not the attribute they wanted to spend money on. So the scrap man won the argument... Fast money won out again...since they determined she was worth more in pieces then as a whole. Another example that...*The LOVE of money is the root of all evil*. In some small way...if we can build the most accurate model of her...we in essence still have her among us. Now if I can convince Mike to let me make a stand for her from that door he has from her cabins....We will have reached the apex of our intended goal...to reconstruct and display her faithfully. Rob

Thanks Rich. I remarked about my speedy pace only derogatorily because it generally means I lack the greater character trait of patience. Sometimes I can’t wait for paint to dry. I do appreciate every fine comment and accolade I receive…….I truly do. I’m hard on myself because I know I could do better, but I’m to lazy to correct it. Im working out the details for making the aft rail and all its complexities. I’ve learned a lot about it’s design in my studies. It’s quite ingenious. McKay was a real thinker Rob

Not to throw fuel on the fire, but how will you fade the plank sheet into the top molding of the naval hood…….they are one in the same….? Sorry, but I noticed this a little while ago. I’m sure you have an ingenious plan in store to show off your awesome wood working skills Rob

Thanks Rich, I plan on keeping this anchor suspended as it is, and have the other hanging from the cat head via it’s internal blocking. Both of these anchors will be removed when I begin work on the channels. Rob
