Bell UH-1H Huey By lmagna - Dragon - 1/35 - PLASTIC

I bet someone in the draft board was upset. They wanted to put you in the Army as a private and make you a Grunt. Shows how smart you are though! I can't remember what number I was, that year or any other! -

That's OK John it adds a degree of deniable plausibility to anything we say. Of course you do remember what they say about if you can remember the 60s? -

Wow, I had to look that one up. My failing memory remembers the lotto as being around ever since my high school days, if not before. But according to the infallible internet the first lotto was in 1969. That still seems wrong to me for some reason. -

PERFECT name! You mean Hens are never "Maidens"? (Used as a status, not a gender) -
Congratulations That is quite the achievement Ted. After all that the Kearsarge should be a drop in the bucket.

Almost like having your own private little airshow. -
And another from the Great Pacific Northwest

It seems to be a little known piece of modeling history as well. I built the tracked vehicle as a kid and enjoyed the look, I was in a SF mood a few years ago and wanted to try out making a "Moon rover" based on a SF book I was reading and thought of this model, (Without the cannon of course) but it seemed to be long out of production. Nice work! -

When you are out looking for "Maidens"..................?????????????? -
And they only called it a Gale? Boats sunk, people drowning, cranes falling, sounds more like a hurricane to me!

You mean you don't want him to set off for Cuba looking for his mate? Would that be called a maiden voyage or a mating voyage?? -

I had never seen an aircraft take off that way. They always seemed to do it your #2 way. Stopping, breaking, revving, and release to GO! I suppose that would be similar to a Huey doing a quick takeoff. I think it was claimed that a Huey could lift off from a dead start in 60 or 90 seconds. I don't know, we never did it when I was on board, I understand it is hard on the transmission. -
I bought what is probably the clone of this airbrush, at a much lower price, from my local hobby shop. https://www.amazon.com/PointZero-Multi-purpose-Dual-action-Airbrush-Set/dp/B004KNDR08/ref=sr_1_24?crid=1I6N65SNA0WM6&keywords=airbrush+compressor+kit&qid=1583716913&s=arts-crafts&sprefix=airbrush+compresser%2Carts-crafts%2C209&sr=1-24 While I am pretty certain it would be looked down on as any kind of investment in the future of airbrushing, it has done all of the painting so far on my Huey. I have had some drying issues with Acrylic and I am a little worried about how well it will do when it comes time for large areas like the fuselage but the compressor is so quiet you can easily talk over the noise.

I got a Aztek model similar to this with all kinds of tips from a fellow forum member a while back, but have been having problems getting the connection at the handle to conform to the compressor fitting I am using, so it has just been sitting. https://www.amazon.com/Testors-A470L-Single-Double-Airbrush/dp/B00NPBMHFW

Have you ever seen or heard about these airbrushes Craig? https://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Multi-Purpose-Dual-Action-Professional/dp/B002KJDXHQ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=Master+Airbrush&qid=1583701398&s=home-garden&sr=1-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNlRURkMzUTFDVTkzJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTYzNDc3MTBCSEc2T1RCODQwWSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUExMDE2MzEwN1BWTFdDSjZMTEwxJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

Gee, thanks for the video Craig! As always when I look on Utube for how-to stuff, (I tend to live there already lately) I watch the original video and then end up watching two more hours of other stuff! This guy while beautifully informative ended up as being one of those ventures into "Modeling levels I can never achieve". Did you see his build on the FW-190? I'm sorry that was a FW-190 build by Plasmo. It looks like Utube switched me to his stuff when I wasn't looking.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
