You know, when you can find one, even the 1:24 scale model of the McLaren F1 street version is $100+. The race cars are less, but the street version is hard to find and expensive, like the 1:1 car.

Sigh...dang Lou, that was a wet blanket. 🤔
I am tired and sore from the past two days of work. Still more to go so I better shape up. 🙂

Another great choice of subject matter Greg; look forward to this one. Can I ask why 'Zulu' and not one of the Aussie ships? There must be a wealth of info available for the Aussie ones?
cheers
Pat

lmagna reacted to Chilliard in Black Pearl by Chilliard - Zvezda - 1/72
I have been installing some items on the deck. I installed the handrails around the ladders. I also added some chain to the capstan. I'm not a fan of it being around the main mast but it is what it is.
I also installed the ships wheel and bell.
I also installed the Syrens around the stern.
I have been working on the ships boat. It was a fun little project.

Please feel free to copy any of my ideas. I look forward to seeing your build log.

lmagna reacted to having-fun in Black Pearl by Chilliard - Zvezda - 1/72
Well, my son in law decided to buy the Black Pearl from Zvezda. Since I do not have any 3d printer equipment, most likely I will try to build the boat using most of the parts that comes with the kit. He agreed to purchase what ever lights I need from the Evan Design site, thanks to the moderator, ccoyle and you, Chilliard, for letting me know about this outfit.
Well Chilliard I hope you do not get offended if I copy some of your ideas on how to build the boat, obviously, you are more experienced than me and I do need all the help I can get. I will be starting a build log as soon as I get the kit box.
Thanks
Joe

Nope, probably the worst beer in Oz, universally hated. It’s Vile. I think the Northern European version is different to the Australian concoction.

Belgium beers are also amazing but not as mainstream here because it’s so hot

Yes I agree. I do drink that one but I prefer these two (brewery is here in NYS, but they are Belgian style)

You are going to build her scrapped!?
I'd rather have the Belgium produce, if I really must drink beer, or bitter ...

This will be another stunner - great subject and lots of goodies there!
Does the Flyhawk PE deck give you a lot more detail? I noticed in a bunch of my 1/700 kits and their aftermarket, Flyhawk includes deck replacements. I looked at one of my kits, and the PE looked pretty much exactly like the kit deck. I wasn't sure if there was a particular reason to do that? Maybe to ease the painting task? Maybe for stability?

The models of these turbine steamers are very interesting, but there are practically no detailed photos on the Internet.

Thank you, Chris!
The swift hull of this ship resembles another turbine steamer in the St. Patrick series. Yes, I really like these ships and under some conditions I would gladly take on the construction of one of them.
