  1. Ok here's some pics of the progress .... Ladders The grate for under the rowboat took me quite a bit of time....but here it is Here's the finished rear deck housing So this is the system I used to measure multiple pieces of the same size.. So with that system I made the boat supports which took longer than what most ppl will ever know lol The pin racks And lastly the rowboat(not glued in yet) the knight head and the falcon gun supports Thanks for looking :)
  2. Got a few more pieces for the deck put together....ladders ,the grate for under the boat, the housing on the rear deck took me quite some time to get right. So I may post pics tomorrow or it may wait 3 days lol. Next I am going to work on the supports for the rowboat
  3. I got the grate together and used some of my wife's craft glue that is repositionable but since I have worked 4 out of last 5 days that's as far as I am. I do not know if it will hold long enough but I only need it to stay together until I glue it to the deck Will post more progress when it happens :)
  4. as you can see when you get closer does not look as nice lol Ok so any advice on how I turn all the sticks to a grate ?? Lol I will work on it but check back lol
  5. I have attached pin racks and painted a few parts but really have not done a whole lot lately. I did cut the 5 mm spaces and drilled the hole for the rudder, that was a bit nerve wracking....spend time trying to make the ship nice and now punch holes in it lol. Well off to put more together
  6. Perhaps I will try to add more before staining. I don't like it when things don't want to stick lol
  7. Thanks Sjors Yeah Robbyn I've been a bit tied up and may be away again when it gets warm enough to dig and plant. I am determined to finish this one day but am not in a super hurry to do so. I just take it as it comes. I find when I force things more damage than good. Some out of it lol. :)
  8. Some progress .......... Got some wood put on and now directions state to stain (better weather needed) The upper stern finial was quite the problem child for me....I must have reglued it 4 times and glued myself to the ship at least 3 lol Ok may do some super structure stuff not sure yet if I want to tackle that yet or not. :)
  9. Ok been doing my fiddly bits as Sjors calls them.........I just figured out that I have gotten myself into a sanding hobby that I occasionally get to add pieces to the whole lol I've put the rubbing strakes on and most of the limber boards I had a problem lining up one of the boards so modifying took some time but I am pleased with the results :) And the rear rubbing strakes gave me many problems getting it to stay layed down and you can see the upper one creeped away a bit...this took me multiple attempts so it is what it is .... The other limber boards I hope to put on Sunday then some boards around the galley then according to the directions stain so that means wait for better weather since that will be done outside. Guess I will work on some deck swag lol... I
  10. Um that is not an English sentence I am aware of....but the gist may be "if you need more advice do not hesitate to contact OcCre". Maybe someone else can translate it better but I assume there is some translation error there. Good luck and let me know how the fix goes :)
  11. So I sanded and smoothed. I did have a bit of a problem on the one side so that will just have to be where the ship took damage ramming another during battle So I think I am moving forward......and then I snap the two pieces for rubbing strakes that go on next and have no spares so I am now glueing them back together and hoping they work lol.... Also a few places the glue didn't take and the boards are a bit spongy will the stain hold them on or shall I just ignore it?
  12. Nice to see you back in the swing of things. Sure is looking great :)
  13. Whew well I now have my second plank layers on, not sanded yet and my crew keeps griping about the flaws so I may have to add plank for walking lol... I still feel that I should work on a gaps but may see what they look like after sanding in a few days.....Thanks for checking in :)
  14. I haven't totally decided on whether to paint the cannons or leave them the color they came........I do have a metallic black so........still not sure lol. Did you use the dremel to sand the hull?
  15. I like the look with the wood doubled up but it is entirely up to to what you like
