No updates as I have been working 6 out of 9 days so far, and since I work 24 hour shifts at the firehouse, that has not left me a lot of time :)

So if I understand correctly 18 pages in your log gets you to page 5 in the instructions , that's 3.6 log pages per instruction page. And if my math is correct, you should have 612 pages in your log when you finish. :) :)

Ok some pictures of the first layer of planks.....keep in mind I have to fill and sand still..... Ok here's where I ask for more advice............. Per instructions I am supposed to apply the keel( little piece of wood on bottom of ship) after the second planking is done. I am wondering if logically I should apply the keel then my second plank layers can line right up to it, instead of any gaps that could arise. Any comments, advice, even rude remarks would be welcome :) Thanks

Oh darn Augie I thought I had some real talent lol....actually I tear more curtains down at fires then worry about what they match to lol Welcome to my little dock John, the people here have treated me very well and I have some pictures coming tomorrow... I got a good part of the first layer of planks down so its on to fill and sand.......I may wait to sand until the weather cools off a tad :)

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
