  1. No updates as I have been working 6 out of 9 days so far, and since I work 24 hour shifts at the firehouse, that has not left me a lot of time :)
  2. The color scheme really looks good. You have quite a bits and bobs selection there and all ready to go when you need them :). Your anchor supports look good in my opinion but I am just a rookie so..........
  3. Kieth I am going to tape down the sandpaper like you did when I do the keel thanks. Thanks Aldo I am going to put keel on after sanding first layer. Hello Adam and welcome to my build........I will take any advice you feel like like sharing lol .
  4. Looking very good.......I will try to remember the tack version if I ever do another ship
  5. So if I understand correctly 18 pages in your log gets you to page 5 in the instructions , that's 3.6 log pages per instruction page. And if my math is correct, you should have 612 pages in your log when you finish. :) :)
  6. Thanks Robbyn gonna put the keel on after I sand the first plank layer down. I hope not to oversand Adriaan looks worse than it is I hope lol Thanks Sjors, not sure i believe you that it's better than yours.........yours really came out great, was an influence in me getting into this :) So more house projects and having to work a few days may set the sanding back a few days....but hope to be back at it soon All comments welcome :)
  7. So I try to keep things looking good and then I do this............ And add more wood fill to every spot I can lol
  8. Ok some pictures of the first layer of planks.....keep in mind I have to fill and sand still..... Ok here's where I ask for more advice............. Per instructions I am supposed to apply the keel( little piece of wood on bottom of ship) after the second planking is done. I am wondering if logically I should apply the keel then my second plank layers can line right up to it, instead of any gaps that could arise. Any comments, advice, even rude remarks would be welcome :) Thanks
  9. Oh darn Augie I thought I had some real talent lol....actually I tear more curtains down at fires then worry about what they match to lol Welcome to my little dock John, the people here have treated me very well and I have some pictures coming tomorrow... I got a good part of the first layer of planks down so its on to fill and sand.......I may wait to sand until the weather cools off a tad :)
  10. Off to a great start....looking forward to this one coming together ( and all the great commentary) :)
  11. Those lines are looking great. If I ever get to that point I will be looking for your advice :)
  12. Strange as it is sometimes work gets you back to your regular routines and helps in a way
