I am still working on my guns, the rigging takes a lot of time.

I will show the result when this part of the deck is finished.

I have been busy rigging my first visible gun, it wasn't easy to get the result i wanted, but with this one i'am happy

Now i can make the rest of the tackles.

Left turned rope for the breeches and right turned rope for the tackles

First the things i have changed:

The brass lists on the hull are changed by wooden ones.

Sanded a "H" profile down to a "U" profile to get a better fit the rest

Changed the bellfry and everything around it, including the galley's chimney.

According the books it should be square, so i made one out of wood and coppered it and make it look older.

I have a drawing of the Original ship and i saw there that the chimney should be square

Changed the bowsprit (with thanks to Palladio for his fine example)

Some pictures of the cabins (they are still under construction)

Building the staircases outside the model because they will be seen trough the "open" quarter deck

I think all the ships of the line had a "cote of arms"  (with thanks to Doris for her example!)

The hull is coppered and painted....

Coppering was a long lasting job, it took me the summer of 2015 to do it, but i am happy with the result, although i had to start all over again for a few times

I am now busy rigging the guns.

Left turned rope for the breechropes and right turned for the tackles.

Therfore i use the blocks and hooks from Chuck and the rope from Morope.

I am running around this forum for a few years to learn, so its time to start a log about my build of the HMS Agamemnon.

Started 2 years back, and since i am a slow builder i can show you all a collection of pictures to where i am at this moment.

The hull isn't finished yet.

My build took so long because i changed a lot on this ship.

My decks will be opened like on a navy board model.

First i have to climbe on board to make more pictures from what i have all changed

Next problem 

 

I was trying to dry-fit the transom to see how that goes before I started at the quarter gallery's.

I know from Mobbsie that he has to raise the transom a bit because it don't fit how it should be.

I found out that I had the same problem.

So I contacted Klaas to see what he has.

In the beginning he had also that problem but he found out why and what to do.

Because my bulwarks are glued in and  his not, he can change it easier then I do.

But there is no man over board   

At the end of this post you will see pictures of that.

What have I ( and many others ) done.

The bulwark has to go down and shaped.

Now you see a gap between the planks and the plate of the bulwark.

That should be closed !

So the whole plate will come down a bit just to the right hight.

What I am gonna do is this.

I leave the transom as it should be.

So my top of the bulwark is 2 mm to high.

When the poop deck is planked , I can make the bulwarks fits nicely.

The only concern that I have is what about the canons on the lower deck.

Try that also out and I must say. you don't see 2 mm.....

When it is more, I can play with the second planking so that's also no problem anymore ( I hope )

On the pictures the transom slower then it wil come at the end

I looked at that problem again this afternoon, and started to measure the whole thing. (again)

There is really not much harm done by sanding the top of that bulwark a little

There is only one important reference (to me) and that's the floor of the balcony in combination with the windows on the side.

Those windows and the gunports on that same deck should be in line.

What about painting the barricade in natural wood, and then varnish it?

To me , 4,2 mm seems oké.

Your scale 1:72, makes the original distance between the ratlines 30 cm.

Keeping in mind that the people in that age were about 1.65 m.

According to my count there should be 48 ratlines on the main mast.

About the crowfeet; i have to look it up
