  1. That's got to be the widest variety of clamps used on a boat at the same time! Despite all the difficulties you described, your planking came out beautiful. That next to last picture is fabulous! I also notice that Marvin disappeared from the last few pictures. Did you scare him away with all that language that's been filling up the super D cup? 😃
  2. Fantastic paint job on those tiny drums, Grant! So realistic - even with the up-close pictures!!
  3. Welcome to MSW, Aeneas. You have found the best site on the whole interweb!
  4. I'm late to the show but working my way to the front row. Looks like an interesting subject and I love the prominent wood grain. But the best part is the dedication of the build. Toast to your First Mate!!!
  5. These are the 2 coolest projects ever!!! Please keep us updated with more pics of their work. And I checked my bible. Sure enough, all the fishing boats were indeed turquoise and pink! 😃
  6. I tried to stop myself from doing this, Keith, I really did. But my fingers just wouldn't listen. I fully expect for you to block me from your build log going forward.
  7. Excellent decision to change the color of the ground under the pit and give it a gravelly look. It makes for a very nice contrast to the brown dirt as well as helping to visually identify the work area.
  8. Now I get it! Like tossing something in the trash bin. BTW, very cool area to display your work! I think a sea monster attacking a ship would be a great addition to the partition!
  9. The Aussie and Canadian contingents on MSW are always teaching this non-worldy Texan terms they use. Is "bin the flop" a New Zealand expression? Never heard that one before! 😃
  10. That is very interesting! And I was certain Pat and the rest of the proud Aussies were trying to confuse me again with their lingo. Too bad they don't sell that Bundaberg rum here in Texas or I'd help myself to more than a tot!
  11. If you did not tell us about the issues, we would not notice them. In fact, I'm not sure I see any as it is. It's in the bottle, standing up on all 4 legs, crane towering over everything, and looking fantastic! Superb work!!
  12. Once again I fail the Aussie vocabulary test. What is a "tot"? A drink of some kind maybe?
  13. Oh man, been there done that! Very nice save on your part to get the hull pieces separated and back out of the bottle. Sounds like you have a good plan for round 2 by fixing the ship in place before additional construction. I am anxious to hear how it goes. Like Bob above, I am also in the rooting section!
  14. LOL!!! Like just about everything else, if you deep fry it long enough, it tastes pretty good!
  15. Those tiny propellers are amazing! Nice work. Almost time for the exciting moment of truth! Good luck with the bottling process!! To your question - yes, I have reused the hose and funnel several times. As soon as I'm done pouring the epoxy resin, I take a can of brake cleaner and liberally spray the inside of the hose and funnel. After that treatment they are good to go again!
  16. Thank you for all the kind words. Each of you had a helping hand throughout this build and were truly instrumental in bringing my crazy idea to life. I am really blessed to be surrounded by so many incredibly talented (and entertaining) modelers. My hat tips to all of y'all!
