  1. Ratlines attached . Hopefully I have showed relevant steps that seem to have worked okay . If anyone has advice or criticism of the method , please go ahead
  2. Completed deadeyes and lanyards , ready for attaching ratlines
  3. Upper mast attached area , prior to attaching deadeyes and working our the length of the lanyards
  4. These are the shroud lines prior to attaching to the upper mast
  5. I then decided to try a different method for the upper shrouds. When I worked on the upper shrouds of the main mast , I pretty much used the same system that I have just shown. It just appeared to be really hard work working in space , small , and the anchor point were really "brittle" , I was afraid I was going to snap the mast. I decided that I could do all the siezing required , before attaching to the mast , in a more comfortable space away from the ship. When done I could then attach to the mast and proceed further So I did the siezing in the conventional way in the vice
  6. I hen proceeded to tie the ratlines on the lower shrouds
  7. I then siezed the shroud , no glue , so that I could move the siezing up or down until the lanyard would be the correct length and attached the deadeye
  8. I have continued on the process of rigging me Beagle . I thought I would show you how I went about this process. Any comments will be appreciated , as to method and process. This sequence was for the rigging of both lower and upper shrouds on the foremast. First I measured off the lengths of the lower shroud needed before attachment to the Mast
  9. I find that sometimes the diagram and instructions and the video all give different views and methods. I feel that one should use own judgement. After all it is our model....
  10. I had the same issue during my build , thought I had mislaid them. But I guess its an issue with OcCre. I also just bought some from a craft store and it works fine . Just needs to be straightened out
  11. Looks good. It does help to have the right tools , like round nose pliers . Makes it a little easier
  12. That finish looks great . I think it may be worth a try on my next attempt at a build
  13. Looks like you're making excellent progress .
  14. I then started to work on the top dead eyes and shrouds
  15. This is a simple jig I made to keep the lanyards equal
  16. I started to work on some of the main mast shrouds .
  17. This was the second or third attempt before I decided to proceed . This is before I have glued or trimmed the ratlines
  18. Been a while since I worked on ratlines , so I tried some before I went further . Wasn't impressed with this lot so undid it to try again
  19. So I started on the rigging of my Beagle . I decided to start from the stern working forwards , as it seemed it would be easier with less to do on the mizzen mast . I attached the shrouds with a simple knot
