Your doing a great job. I also have a Sergal kit. The HMS President. Are your rigging plans like mine as well, just printed on 1 sheet? The are very scarce and basic rigging plans.

Hey Chris. Any activity in the dock yard lately?
-
Has anyone had any experience with this kit? I've never assembled a Minicraft kit before and want some feed back about the instructions, Parts quality and fitting issues if any. I have had a browse through this site but I don't think anyone is building a 1:350 scale version. Thanks in advance.

People on this site can help you and sort out your problems and confusion you may have with this build. BUT the best advice you can receive is to have patience!, Take your time. Don't rush, I'm sure you will do a great job your Opa will be proud of. You never know... After finishing this then you could be hooked!! P.S There is no such thing as a stupid question either, don't be shy.

I can't do without my tweezers. I'd have to say would be my favorite hand tool. I have straight points, 45 degree, 90 degree self locking tweezers, tweezers for decals even tweezers I have stolen from the admiral that she used to use for her eyebrows. (shhhhh) There is nothing worse than not being able to pick up, place, pull, twist, grab and insert all those tiny parts.

Your doin a stunning job Chris. How do you get your wood to look like that? With the aged look. Especially like the wood around the figure head. I see on the box the picture shows the figure head lion is a bright red. I won't be doin that. I will be painting it more the way you have done. Looks better.

Amazing craftsmanship. I liked the idea of adding the black paper in the joins to enhance the joins.

The hand rails look great. Is that a gold trim you have on the length of your catheads

Doing a superb job. Rigging stage already!!

Wait until the time arrives for tying the Ratlines!

Ahh yes the repetitive job of gun port hatches. Still looking good. I noticed on your middle picture the cannon on the left of the frame is black. Will you be blackening the rest of the cannon barrels?

I work in advance for rigging. If I need to tie blocks i will glue all the nessercery parts with Diluted PVA the day before and by the next day the glue has thougly dried I can permanently rig it onto my model. Then glue another set to be installed the day after that. CA is a dirty word in my shipyard.

Done a nice job on the handrail. I like the look of your strakes. Well done.

You have done a nice job on the planking. You will not see height differences. I would lean more towards removing the planks and start again. Better to make the change now than later on. Just my two cents:)

It looks real neat. Are those green strips the kit color or did you repaint them? The ones in my kit were real lite in color so I think I will repaint them.
