I had this on my Lieda pleasure yacht build.
The second picture you have of an apparent hole to below deck looks correct. My plans show the exact same.
The anchor ropes come in the hawse holes, wraps around the windlass once mayby twice, And then head below deck through that hole next the the mast.
I agree with Don about the hawse hole looking too low but the steep angle sounds good.

Music to my ears. Mamoli kits have been my favorite ever since I started ship Modeling.  Well done

You have done a superb job of this kit. Well done. It's looking great.
Good to see that, Not only is it a cross section but you have left off some the copper plates to see the hull planks.

    She is looking absolutely beautiful.
I bet there is a lot of weight on the stern at this point of the build. As just found out with my Friesland build.
Cutting out those individual window panes will be time consuming but worth it for looks.  Good neat and tidy work.

Hey there. Nice start. I have also built this model awhile ago and had a ball with it. I hope you enjoy it too. I'm seriously contemplating building it again.
All the best and P.S Watch out for the location tabs on the boiler and engine room not lining up.

    Hello Everyone,                     A small update.

I have just finished the lower transom support and glued it in place. I found it to be quite an awkward piece to make, nothing seemed to end up being a perfect fit, it turned out only ok but it will have to do. Next I'll be tackling the rudder,

Top job on the hinges. Your hull has come up an absolute beauty. Well done.
Those casting never seem to fit in all kits. Usually abit of fudging around to get them right.

One thing I have noticed before I do anymore rigging on the bowsprit, it needs to be darkend to suit the rest of the masts.  It's too light a colour.

Thanks Mike and Michael. Yes soldering is very tricky and takes a bit of practice, yes the hardest part is holding very small pieces together whilst soldering. One trick is to pin the parts onto a sacrificial piece of wood that will inevitably scorch. If the solder is a bit thick or lumpy I just file off the excess. I have a great little blow torch thats good for small work.

The stand is a rough one I made out of mdf just to hold the ship during construction. I will make a proper stand when I'm finished, probably like the small supports I made for my first Endeavour in this pic

But then again, this pic is from the plans of the Friesland. A Dutch ship from 1663. Best of luck

I would go with the two ropes heading down to the deck. The ropes sometimes link around a sheave block and then are connected to the deck.
    As in the pic...

    Ok so now it's confusing.
The line (466 Dark line) that supports the yard (312) runs from the yard, Up and over the Donkey head (mast cap). And then from there, Down to a violin block belayed the the deck.
Thats straight forward on the plans but there is no way I can run the line through the Donkey head as shown in the plans.
The Donkey head is made of very hard metal and drilling is not an option.
There are no holes or sheaves to run the line over.
I could go over the front but that will look bad.
