I made the stand for the guitar. The base is a simulation of the stage floor (sort of ) :

Yes. Thanks for the suggestion Popeye, and the pics. Actually my Admiral rang me about 10 minutes after you posted the above with the same thought - how weird  .

Wonderful idea to make a paper Telecaster.
But building a real one is not too difficult.
I built this one for my grandson. In fact it is a cheap kit, with a new coat of paint, a corrected neck and improved hardware (better pick-ups and better tuners) I had still in stock from earlier days when I built electric guitars just as a hobby...

Dan Vadas got a reaction from hof00 in 3 Lighthouses by Dan Vadas - HMV - 1:250 - CARD
The final lighthouse - Green Cape near Eden on the New South Wales South Coast. At 29 metres high it is the state's 2nd tallest lighthouse. It was built between 1881 and 1883. More info can be found HERE.

The main body of the lighthouse was a bit tricky to glue together owing to it's shape :

The way this scalloped feature was designed in the kit didn't work, as the card delaminated after folding and the gap didn't close properly. I drew up and cut 8 triangular pieces to replace the original - they turned out a LOT better :

Decorative knees support the platform. These were laser cut :

Two domes, one for each building :

    The finished model :

To explain "my" last post above - that was written by my Admiral on her computer which is set up to go to my own MSW Account. Poor girl's not very computer literate and doesn't have her own MSW account so she uses mine  .

The wheels took longer to make than anything else, 2 days worth. I used my own method for them - the kit's ones were a terrible design :

I printed a 2nd parts sheet and cut out things like the air horns, clearance lights and tailgate hinges which I glued over the ones that were simply printed to the roof, tailgate etc to give them more depth. All the smaller details have been added and the model is FINISHED  :

I still need to apply a couple of coats of gloss clear. I'll add a couple more pics when it's dried.

    Matt,

I have had good experience with filler blocks, both to assist in hull fairing and to support planking.  I recommend something firmer than balsa such as bass, pine, or popular.  I have attached pictures of my Fair American  build for reference.

    Regards,
    Pete

I used balsa on my build of HMS Agamemnon, it was as good as useless in my mind. In future I would use a soft wood but much firmer than balsa which would accept a pin and hold it without straining to push it in.
