Sjors got a reaction from Elijah in HMS Sovereign of the Seas by Sjors - DeAgostini - 1:84
Thanks Ulises,
The main reason to choose for DeAgostini is because I could do it by prats work.
Every month I receive 4 magazines with building materials.
Nice reading things and I could spread out the money.
It's gonna be more expensive then when you pay at once for the kit but that was my decision.
Should I do it again?
No!
Reason?.....
The material ( wood ) is bad sometimes.
Change a lot of wood.
Bamboo for the planking is not that beautiful.
And because you are receiving each month something you have to follow there way of building.
It is difficult to look forward.
I have almost all the magazines and find out that I still need decorations to paint and placed when the shrouds are all reading attach at the ship.
Even with the ratlines !
So I'm happy that I still painting and nothing has done at the masts and all that funny stuff.
I know that another Dutch builder is building very soon at the SotS from Sergal.
By the time he will started ( I hope this weekeind ) I shall ask him.
Or watch for your self......

Hoi Elijah and Ken,
@ Elijah,
Yes I know ,I should take a picture.
Now it is under a big plank and clamps.
I will take a look tomorrow how it looks otherwise I will scratch a new one.
@ Ken,
It's not that difficult.
When the glue or paint is drying, I can switch to the other one.
It's not the first time that I'll be doing this.

Sjors got a reaction from Oliver24 in Santísima Trinidad by Sjors - OcCre - 1:90
Hello all,
The Santísima Trinídad was built in Havana and launched on 2nd March 1769. It was the biggest warship of the 18th century, with 130 guns. After taking part in the naval campaigns of the late 18th and early 19th century, it last saw active service at the battle of Trafalgar, under the ensign of rear admiral Cisneros, where it was dismasted by the English fleet.
Measurements:
Length : 1060 mm
Heigth : 876 mm
Width : 415 mm
Click here for more information about the Spanish ship Nuestra Señora de la Santísima Trinidad.
I already cleared the workspace to make room for her. But alas, one piece of the keel and one frame were warped.
The keel was so terribly warped, and I was so surprised by the look of it, that I totally forgot to take a picture. Sorry
Enjoy,
Sjors

Sjors reacted to ken3335 in Royal William by ken3335 - FINISHED - Euromodel - Scale 1:72
Hi Chris, Thanks for liking my build so far and for taking the time to comment. I haven't decided yet about painting the lower hull, I probably will because I like the finished look. I hope followers won't be too disappointed when I say historical accuracy is not my intention. I mentioned in my introduction my goals for this build, I do hope though that I will end up with a clean, neat well finished and good looking model that I will be proud of. I will add as much detail as I'm able. I do have a problem though, you may notice in one of my pictures that I have lost part of my hand, I have a reduced sense of touch and poor dexterity. I started my first kit for movement and control therapy, it was either that or knitting! I found that I enjoyed the building and just continued for the pleasure of it. For me this is going to be a most challenging project as it is and to add another level of difficulty would I think take away some of the enjoyment. I did see Chuck's video though and will bear his planking principles in mind.

Tempting indeed! But I would have to finish Royal Louis first. I barely have room to build one ship... two, is out of the question!!!
