I thought to add windows to the aft walls.  on most trawlers,  these areas are left opne and sculpted,  but for this one,  I decided to do them,  to add to the looks.

these are the fitting that I have from the Nordkap build.   I had ordered these parts from Billings,  when I thought that Harold wasn't going to be able to find the fittings he had.   he did find them,  and now I have all these nice things to play with.

Some more photos of the cabin installed, and some fitting installed.
lower deck sides covered with 0,5mm veener.
Benches completed, and put in place.
Fitting of the mast, and boom with some fittings installed.
Made a mast support on the lathe to fit in the front of the cabin.
Most of the deck fitings is now in place.

then I dry brushed on smoe Billings #BB14 matte white.   as it blended in,  it gave me a gray close to what I painted them with in the beginning.

here is is........the end of the journey!  except for the little bit update that I haven't logged yet,  this will catch these two up to the day when the lights went out.

thanks for your paitience.   what you'll see from here on out,  will be fresh and new.  no more will either one of these two,  have to hide,  like a secretive lover...  to look on to each other as upgrades are added.
they are close to their conclusion.....but you won't miss it.......will you?

I can't tell you how glad I am.  This place would NEVER be the same without you.  I don't know if you're going to rebuild every log but even if you just pick them up where you left off it will be GREAT.

This session was more of a fabrication session........the fore cabin roofs,  grab rails,  and helm roofs were fleshed out and assembled.   I also needed some sanding sticks,  so I made some of different grits.

I did repair some of the imperfections in the hull.......after all, it does need to be water tight.

The windows were framed,  so they couid be installed from the outside,  unlike his counterpart. the build continues..............

    Good morning all,

Ok - Ok, I shall repost all the build pictures from the start. It's going to be a long way, but I fully agree with you. It will be a real pity to start off with the new progress pics. The people out there, will not make heads and tails of what the build consists of.

I will try to start posting today.

New years was coming,  and the build was moving right along.   I couldn't wait for the day when both of these builds will be in sync with one another.   then I could work on them together.   the open areas under the sheers are to have a floor,  in order to close them off from seeing the gaps left by the decking.   I had used 7mm planking as borders along the side,  to better gauge the deck planking.   it works out well,  because they will become the sills for these compartments.  I also wanted to paint the inner areas with primer.   if I didn't get paint under the sheers now,  I wouldn't be able to do it later,  with the hull completely closed in.   I will make up the floor pieces,  and then prime.  the bad part was that I was almost out of white primer.......very little was left and certainly not enough.

The floor were installed over the openings.   they were later primed to get some on them as well

    Popeye,

I think somebody pointed this out in the previous log, but the picture of the trap with the lobsters in it shows the lobsters already cooked....Maine's version of fast food?

Hi Sjors :   Yeah. I'm caught up to where I'm at in the build, I'll have some more updates after I get all the foremast yards sailed  and attached.

Aldo, you'er my mentor, without your help the barnacles would of never come to  be. I like the morope too, it has a really nice look. The rigging my friend, is not as good as it shoud be, my foremast rigging was really a learning step.
I'm more pleased with the main mast rigging, well ,I guess you live and learn.

Patrick : Thanks for the comments, Iwas concerened with the look of the sail, thats  why i posted the picture, to get some kind of feed back. I still have quite a bit to do, but when it's finished I have Krick's Alert that i plan to tackle.

hi Mark!  thanks for the good word......be proud to have you follow along!  this will definitely get this build up to snuff......the hull paint!  I used the Billing's paint on this.......I went with copper for the bottom.

the slots in the skylight roof was filled with the window maker,  and then the inside walls of the structure was painted flat white......the bottom was painted flat black,

the masking tape was removed........this copper is more of an earthy tone.....not a real shiny copper color....once the sheen calms down,  it should be good.

I had to do two coats.......I used a brush instead of the airbrush.   I should have used it......I am so spoiled now!  the copper had dried long enough, I think........so, the upper portion was masked up and it got it's first coat of black.

and there it is.........I am all caught up!   I have more progress,  but it's still in the camera.  I took tomorrow off,  so I'll try to get more done.....my morning will be a busy one though.....both grand kids are coming over!  can't wait to see them!

I am glad to have made it back!............glad to see the Stag did as well.   thankfully people talk....or I wouldn't have known when MSW was back online.   I couldn't use the bookmark I have,  so I had to do a search in order to reconnect with the site.......just got in tonight.

it's so sad to see the library so bare
gone is the content that used to be there
it was like taking a walk on the longest pier
to view all the ships that used to be here

through all the effort,  of all that are friend
will whittle away,  in an effort to mend
the void that was created, by the electronic foe
back to the greatest site,  that we used to know

    it's not much,  but I threw this together for you folks at MSW...........we'll get her back ship shape Sir{s}
