Hi Vaddoc Yes. CA glue is what I use almost exclusively, because it’s quick drying and non-messy. Do you you have an alternative idea? Thanks Patrick

Outstanding effort, Adrian. You should be justifiably proud! Well done. Cheers. Patrick

HI John Many thanks! That's a mighty nice compliment. On a more serious note, I hope you're (and all of our American MSW members) safe and well, what with the Hurricane that's blowing through your country at the moment. Stay safe. Cheers Patrick

Hi Rob That’s a tricky question, of which only you know the true answer to. One thing’s for sure, whatever you decide, I’m sure it’ll look pretty perfect. Have a great weekend! Cheers. Patrick

Hi Vaddoc Ouch! I had a similar fate with my wisdom teeth, many moons ago. Not nice. On a more positive note, at least you were still able to make some headway on your boat. Have a great weekend. Cheers. Patrick

Thanks Ben That’s a great compliment, for sure. Pls pass on my appreciation to your colleague. To be honest, this is definitely the most complex hull I’ve ever had to build. Kudos to the designers who had the imagination and talent to design something like this! All the best. Cheers. Patrick

Hi folks! Another quick update. I’ve done a bit more work on the interior of the Sky Lounge on the top deck. Everything is dry-fitted at this stage. I hope you enjoy these photos. All the best. Patrick

Thanks Pat. She’s getting there in fits and starts, but getting there nonetheless! Thanks Denis. Yep. It took me a while to figure how to do the curved dining table chairs, but, i’m Pretty pleased with the results! Cheers Patrick

Hey Frank I’m just catching up on your little ripper of a model. You know, some people are handsome. Some people are rich. And some people are just seriously talented. You, Frank, fall into the ‘Seriously Talented’ category!!!!! And that’s a good thing. Every time I look at your work, I just shake my head in envy and disbelief. Mighty fine work, Frank. Mighty fine, indeed! Cheers. Patrick

Thanks Vaddoc! I’m glad you liked the ‘leopard skin’ rug under the curved settee in the saloon. It’s actually cut from the latest Nespresso coffee brochure! It’s amazing what a bit of imagination can do when you’re looking for colourful additions to a ship’s decor! Have a great week. Cheers. Patrick

Thanks Carl! Yep. You’re right about the decor. Very 60’ish, yet retro at the same time. Thanks for looking in! Cheers. Patrick

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
