hi Mike , glad to see u go started .. logic tells me that the grove should be on the inside of the bend ,especially if it is only a slight bend . but i could be wrong !!! good luck .

of course do a build log ,even if it,s only pics it lets us see what the kit looks like .. just in case I ever get around to building one ..

i thought cornwall pricey ,, was wondering if u had ordered from Model expo ,, and how it worked , no prob will keep an eye on ebay

Welcome spider , it,s always advisable to read the instructions well in advance of the stage u are at. i,m not familiar with Mamoli kit or the instructions but from experience kit instructions can sometimes be a bit basic , search the forum for similiar builds and any questions they don,t answer ,just ask ,, lots of willing helpers here . It looks like your lower decks will be fitted with only the cannon barrels ,no carriage , which is simple enough , . The upper decks will prob have complete cannons , but u still should have room to fit them . I would be inclined to finish the hull planking before fitting to many small pieces on decks as they may get damaged in the planking process , good luck with the build and may all your problems be small ones !!!

Hi Mike , i,m not sure there is a fixed distance , as i understand the distance would be shortened over time as the rigging was tightened , i could be wrong ? in a few examples i looked at the space seemed to be about twice that of the deadeyes themselves , eg if the deadeye is 10 mm the pace should be 20 mm .. Personally i think it more important to have them all spaced the same be it wide or narrow , hope this makes sence , Others may have a more specific answer .,,

sounds bad , we only have a couple of inches , although the east and south of us seem to be getting it worse .
If gold it will look well ,
Stay warm ,, Boyd

glad to know u survived the" beast from the east " though it not quite finished yet . There is a heck of a lot of ornimation on your build, will u need to paint it all ???
-
i was really just checkin to see if u all were payin attention !!!!!!!! simple solution would have been to turn them around but the lashing i had on wasn,t well enough finished to be on the top , so resorted to brass strips , , probly looks better anyway .
cheers Boyd

Mike ,, i forgot u are in the highlands aren,t u ??? good excuse to batten down the hatches and get some peacefull buildin time . Believe it or not a neighbour of mine was cutting and baling silage this morning (, if u know what that is ?) it was a field that was to wet to get on since last July , this is the first time the ground has been hard enough to get machinery on .It,s just startin to snow here now but i think we will escape the worst of it .
Keith ,, safe home ,, sorry i don,t speak foreign languages !!!!!!!! only -4 here , i,m in my shorts
-
Keith ,, note a chance , all i want now is to get her to a stage i content with and into a case of some sort and move on to the next build . i,m probably the only one who will ever see her anyway , and i have discovered i do not like rigging .Did u get much of the beast from the east yet ??? We are cold but not much snow yet anyway !

To be honest i wouldn,t worry about having moving parts ,as u say who will move them anyway ? i would be more concerned about the finished look . problem with moving parts is people are inclined to move them and usually break them !!!!
