good evening everyone, two post in one day and managed to get two episodes of Hornblower in, just love that series day 49 1/2 deck framing/planking still very much work in progress, a question for all you good people out there these 1/2 decks, how were they supported, i see no deck support beams, i do see upright post, but nothing to secure it to the ships hull this afternoon i planked the port side, only then realised that the hatch covers need to be flush with the deck, not raised

good morning everyone Day 47 i had a long discussion with the dog, he understands me more, and listens more than the wife, and treenailing came up, coctail sticks wasnt going to work on the lower deck, but the illusion was required so holes were drilled, and light wood paste was used rubbed in, allowed to dry and sanded, fo far we have come up with this, the lower deck support is just going back in

good evening everyone Day 41 limber boards i think about half will be hidden under the half decks, and the other half might be under cargo, so yep maybe a waste od time, for enjoyment i give myself 10/10, quality of my work 2/10 for those unknowing this is the lowest part of the vessel and where water collects and access is allowed to pump or bale

sanding has been minimal, and most of that was done with a mouse sander, any thing else has been with sandpaper wrapped around parts of the framing jig, as the parts are at right angles its a very handy sanding tool

Good evening everyone Day 40 correction of transom, main deck and lower deck support beams well i sorted the wrong bits out, and now everything is the same height (lol it may all be wrong, but the same wrong all over) the main deck support is now right, i fully removed it to enable removal of cant 57, this allowed me to redo the lower deck support the 1/4 deck still needs to be adjusted but its ideal for keeping the after frames lined up at present i am playing about with the 1/2 decks, but at the same time sorting the (limber boards) either side of the keel inside the hold

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
