good evening everyone, thank you for comments and likes, and interesting to see new followers to my ever continuing process of purchasing good kits and making them badly lol day 3 ensuring the ends are flat to enable fitting into the chassis wheels being made up brass banding around the boiler, was a pain, trying to avoid marking the paint work running gear another test fit after chassis paint has dried here she is for the another day tomorrow, nothing is fitted yet

Day 2 the boiler colour was to light and now i have gone too dark, but will stay this way now, after all would not be a Kevin build if i kept to the correct colours chassis, made up of wood, MDF, castings and PE Tender wheels need the most cleaning up, from the tabs just a test fit of the wheels, these are still to be made up, boiler in her new colour, and matt black

here is the link to the wikki page Adler (locomotive) - Wikipedia i needed a short break from the Indefatigable so thought i would do a OOB kit here is a quick review of the contents all the last cut material is quite good, in a few places the cut has not gone all the way through, so 9/10 the PE is chunky, and has been etched, and quite well detailed 9/10, instructions, seam ok 10/10 casting need cleaning up to rid the seam lines 8/10

good evening everyone day 275 -17 been a definite slowdown on my updates, and a lack of following other builds, for which i apologise im still here though, puppy training and where possible getting on with my build i have a few redo;s but the foremast which is nearly complete, and i will give myself 2/10 for presentation as for the puppy, he is coming on in leaps and bounds, mainly leaps, and the getting along with the older dog is getting much better pup is not yet 4 months old yet and needs surgery to remove his bottom fangs as they have not grown correctly, and in doing so to help prevent the adult teeth doing the same

good afternoon everyone indy build 266-17 been a while since my last update, puppies do get in the way of boat building, but i would not have it any other way, however the daily routine with two dogs is starting to work now, and i am managing to find more time to get on with the Indy this has been a great build from the start, but i had found hard to make decent progress when i am so damm tired i think all the deck fittings with the exception of cannons and the railings are now fitted on the 1/4 deck and poop, meaning i can now progress the shrouds on the mizzen

kit review 1/50 Hercules Tug Boat- Occre - by Kevin
Kevin replied to Kevin's topic in REVIEWS: Model kits
Conclusion for someone venturing into the RC world with a wooden hulled boat this will fit the job very nice, however as a static build it will be lacking in detail, having said that for the price it it is very well priced and will make a great build -

fittings, are made up of bollards winches davits etc these look quite well moulded with a minimal seam line, this is a 1/30 scalle kit, so they may appers to be over sized, im not sure about the metal tyres, perhaps they could have used, well, tyres the instructions manual looks ok and will certainly be useful to anyone doing a first or 2nd build, a QR code is available to obtain online instructions paint list and drawings show the rest of the layout and ways to fit this out with RC Gear,

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
