  2. good evening everyone day 291-19 its been a couple of weeks since my last update, real life has hindered the progress, lost central heating for nearly a week, the puppy has had a operation to remove his bottom fangs, but some progress has been made i will let the photos do the talking, but i am presently working forward to aft, and every now and the i will go and tie in some more ratlines, loving this build, and have another @chris watton kits for Christmas " the Duchess of Kingston, amongst other non maritime kits
  3. good evening everyone day 275 -17 been a definite slowdown on my updates, and a lack of following other builds, for which i apologise im still here though, puppy training and where possible getting on with my build i have a few redo;s but the foremast which is nearly complete, and i will give myself 2/10 for presentation as for the puppy, he is coming on in leaps and bounds, mainly leaps, and the getting along with the older dog is getting much better pup is not yet 4 months old yet and needs surgery to remove his bottom fangs as they have not grown correctly, and in doing so to help prevent the adult teeth doing the same
  4. you have made a lovely job of this build its a shame you made a mistake on the catheads, but im sure you will be able to correct it
  5. good afternoon everyone indy build 266-17 been a while since my last update, puppies do get in the way of boat building, but i would not have it any other way, however the daily routine with two dogs is starting to work now, and i am managing to find more time to get on with the Indy this has been a great build from the start, but i had found hard to make decent progress when i am so damm tired i think all the deck fittings with the exception of cannons and the railings are now fitted on the 1/4 deck and poop, meaning i can now progress the shrouds on the mizzen
  6. Conclusion for someone venturing into the RC world with a wooden hulled boat this will fit the job very nice, however as a static build it will be lacking in detail, having said that for the price it it is very well priced and will make a great build
  7. fittings, are made up of bollards winches davits etc these look quite well moulded with a minimal seam line, this is a 1/30 scalle kit, so they may appers to be over sized, im not sure about the metal tyres, perhaps they could have used, well, tyres the instructions manual looks ok and will certainly be useful to anyone doing a first or 2nd build, a QR code is available to obtain online instructions paint list and drawings show the rest of the layout and ways to fit this out with RC Gear,
  8. two sheets of PE which feels chunky/heavy it also lacks any real detail, rope/thread is fluffy, any one taking this build on might have better in their bottom drawer Running gear shaft and rudder are included with a two bladed prop,
  9. this is my first ever review of a kit so please bear with me the box containing the kit is generic, a colour poster is attached to the box detailing what is inside the lasered billets are well done with very little laser burn on either side and the wood packs look reasonable with no splintering are described in the instructions as being made up of lime and Basswood

Curiosities of the Hercules tug boat The Hercules is a steam tug built in 1907 for the San Francisco Shipowners and Merchants Tug Company, as part of its Red Stack Fleet. During the first part of her life, Hercules was an ocean tugboat. Due to the prevailing northwesterly winds, sailing ships often employed the Hercules on voyages north up the coast from San Francisco. On other occasions, the Hercules was used to tow barges to other West Coast ports and to Hawaii, and to transport equipment for the construction of the Panama Canal. In 1947, the Hercules and the tug Monarch were tasked with towing the hull of the battleship Oklahoma to San Francisco Bay for scrapping. However, 500 miles from Hawaii, she was hit by a powerful storm and the Oklahoma began to fill with water and sink. The Hercules was unable to break free until the last moment, narrowly avoiding being dragged to the bottom of the sea by the Oklahoma. In 1986 she was designated a National Historic Monument. She is now one of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park exhibits and is moored at the Hyde Street Pier. Technical sheet of the model Hercules Tugboat Scale: 1/50 Width: 163mm Height: 420mm Length: 915mm

  14. good evening everyone sorry for not doing my pointless daily updates, quite a lot going on in my life at present, one of them being the new pup anyway Indy day 252-16 completed redo of main lower ratline yep i completely ignored @chris watton instructions, to use natural hemp provided thread, and stain black, yet again i did it my way, ordered black in various sizes, which arrived and i used the wrong ones, however they look ok ish, i might replace one or two of the saggy ones, but in the right lighting you cannot see them
