Ship in a Bottle by knightyo (Alan) - FINISHED

So this build log will certainly be different.   For years now, my Syren and Triton builds have been gathering cobwebs, and also my Nina, which I ironically undertook in order to have at least one fully complete model in my display case.   When I was asked to create a ship in a bottle, it was with some hesitation that I undertook the project.  I did it since it was to be an extremely small model out of card.  How long could it take, right? 😏

 

I should have created a log here, but since the build would be so quick, it felt like a log would be a bit superficial so I decided to take video of the project instead.  

 

Now that the project is done, I'm thinking it would look far, far better with weathering.  If I weather the model, I'll post pics as normal.  Overall, this was really a fun little project.

 

For those wondering, I should actually be able to make progress in the "normal" shipyard in a few months!

(I'm thinking of adding rigging as well since the masts are not glued in, and everything can be taken back out of the bottle fairly easily)...

Really nice Alan!  Not sure I've seen someone do a POB SIB build (usually they are solid hull or pieces thereof) but yours came out fantastic.  Even more important, it fit through the neck of the bottle   Thanks for sharing!

It was a lot of fun to do a POB and not worrying whatsoever about aligning planks from side to side.

Just a small addition to my Ship in a Bottle project.  Once I had everything done, ship back in bottle, vid created, etc etc...    I realized that I hadn't weathered the deck.  Sigh.......

Thanks Mike!  I'm actually relieved to be done with that one.  Now the Nina can be finished, and then Syren, Triton, etc.. 😄
