Ponte Berlin by Duanelaker - Corel - 1:25 scale

Recommended Posts

That's a beautiful boat. I love these working vessels and I especially like the one's like this one that has lateen sails. I Googled Artesania Latina Grand Lijon and nothing came up so thanks for the photos. Start a build log. I'll follow along for sure.

Bob,  another crazy eBay find, it’s an older kit.  I agree there is nothing to search but their are some pictures on the internet.4A8082B5-09F3-4D57-8D60-183CAF25FCC6.thumb.jpeg.378b03385bc46d9db34940fbbd09e2de.jpeg

And here is the outer planking complete on the Berlin, as well as the door.

Finished the siding...ha!  I’m sure it’s called something else but that’s what it felt like.  Shaping the door way was fun.

and with the door...I need to do the hinges before I glue it in.

Well I’m officially over the hill as I turned 40 today...so I guess I’m in it for the long haul 😆

i worked on the railing along the top...it’s amazing how much there is to even the smallest of projects.

Happy birthday, Dave, you're still a spring chicken compared to me!

Ain't that the truth! I spent most of the day correcting mistakes and trying to make sense of the instructions and plans on the Pen Duick I building. Two steps forward and one step back all day long... 🥺

Curious how if this one is still coming along (as well as your Taurus)?

Taurus is on hold for now.  Ponte Berlin is on hold as well.  I am back to the Phantom for the time being...it has been a summer of home improvements and work has been absolutely insane.

I saw your work on the Phantom; she's looking nice! I hope the Home Improvements went (or are going well) and that work becomes manageable (unless insane is good, then I hope it stays the same 🙂)

I really need to start staining, painting etc...but I’ve had more fun with the little pieces.  Home improvements are the norm when you over pay for a glorified camp on a lake lol.  I need a roof badly but I’ve been replacing windows and sheathing for now as well as gutting  bathroom and bedrooms...money and notification after 40 hour weeks are rough.  Work is busy but busy is good I guess, makes the days go by.  What are you working on currently?

Nice to see you back in the boatyard, Dave!

I use it for my unwind time which between work, my weekends with my son, entertaining a needy friend (don’t ask) and entertaining my retired parents is far and few between.  I’m hoping this winter will be better.  I have so many ships I’d like to build just staring at me lol.  But I want to finish what I started.  You pen duick is looking beautiful.

Thanks, David. I'm currently waiting for a couple of old, model boat magazines that I found on the French eBay that have articles in them about the Pen Duick. I need help to understand the rigging since the instructions are useless and the plans aren't much more help. My son is also visiting for a while and he needs to work remotely so I cleared off my small modeling desk so he can have a place to work in our second bedroom. The terrible wildfires in northern California have made the air unhealthy with so much smoke and even ash falling everywhere so I don't even want to go outside. Covid and wildfires....sure hope things get better soon!
