It will most likely be a year or more before I get to this point , but going by the principal of, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, I will gratefully accept your offer!

( I'm pretty sure that Gregg will also be chiming in shortly..)

BTW, Beautiful workmanship.

It doesn’t help that I almost cut off the tip on my thumb yesterday.

Nice looking Pinnacle, sir.  Couldn't have cut off too much thumb.  I don't see any red stain on the ship.  🤷‍♂️👍🤣

I was thinly slicing oranges. I had a flap of skin hanging off the end of my thumb. I had just sharpened the knife too!

I’m finally getting some time to work on my Constitution again! I apologize for my absence but now that the two commissions and the plane I started in October are done I’m hoping to have at least a little more time to build!IMG_8447.thumb.jpeg.2fe46d4513027dbe4530831698fa9290.jpeg

I’ve gotten a lot closer to completing my 36’ Pinnace and I’m mostly finishing up the details!

Beautiful and the rigging securing the boat to the the hatch is nice and clean. Well done!

I'll ask again. Would you like to become a subcontractor for these? The

It’s a tempting offer! But, if I start making too many of the custom parts I’m afraid I’ll never get my ship done! Did you get my printouts for my Pinnace hull jig? If not, let me know and I can share it again.

Now that my Pinnace is complete, I’ve gotten a good start on my hammock stanchions and netting.
I got all of the kit supplied stanchions pained and installed. I also made all of the lower netting hooks with .012 brass wire. I left out about half of the hooks to help the netting look a little more open.IMG_8683.thumb.jpeg.defe0f2fe22fd3362e6d50fd93c96e6d.jpeg

IMG_8684.jpeg My first set of netting is also completed! I just have 7 more to go.🙄

Nice work. Looking about your spar deck, it's dawning on my how much I still have ahead of me.  Daunting, to say the least.

and anticipating a comment by Jon, you look to be building Conny as she appears today.  In which case, why the hammock stanchions and netting?

Lastly, fantastic looking canopies!  I paged back to review your techniques.  May I say, you could hold a Master's class on the subject. I don't think I'm going to bother, but as nice as yours look, I may reconsider..

Yes the spar deck has seemed like a never ending uphill clime! But, the closer I get to being done with it the more I’m loving it! I’m also going off the 2015 Google 3D tour for reference and in the tour the stanchions and netting are there.

thinking back on the canopy frames, the fist one was a pain! The next two that I did at the same time were much easier and actually a little fun. I had to take a break before I started them and try to decide how I wanted to accomplish them. ( I went plane ✈️ crazy for a little bit!) I did decide to leave the two on the main hatch off and once my Pinnace was done I’m glad I did!

I stand corrected. As good as yours look, I can only say, press on!

Say, are you actually making the netting?  If not, what materials are you using?

Hey, I'm not the holding anybody to  a rule book😁! The builder is the captain of the way his ship looks.

The present day ship does have the hammock stanchions and netting. What it doesn't have are the the actual hammocks bundles in the netting. I assume, they are not there for practical reasons like cost and upkeep. I am thinking about adding the bundled hammocks to my model when the time comes. My philosophy is I add nothing to my model (that I am aware of) that are for tourists (safety equipment, electric lighting, loud speakers, gun port netting, etc.) and add stuff that would be there if the tourist weren't (e.g., hammocks, gun rigging, etc.). Both you and Peter have beautiful models, just different styles.
