Hey boys, from your discusion I concluded that you are more worried about finding place to live than finding new job in new town ...

In my country, this is just opposite - you can find flat, room, house easily if you have money, and you can find regular job .... almost never ... if you want to work regular with social insurance ... if you do not want insurance, you can find easy low-paid job

Prices

In Belgrade - apartment 50-60 m2 - 200-500€, house 100-200 m2 500-1500€ per month

In suburb of town - apartment 50-150€, house 200-500€

But

average earnings net per month

Workers with or without elementary school - 150€

Workers with high school or craftsman - 150-300€

Workers with college degree - 400-600€, and if you are a chief, director or leading manager or expert with significant knowlidge and experience, maybe double of that

If you are in private business or inside or connected with politic or criminal, you can earn a bit or a lot more on one or another way, depends of your morality

In my country, main thing is - find any job. It seems that with you is different ?

Hi Bob,

Going back to your post 28 November 2014 - 01:16, I'm left wondering how having secured the wire to the deadeye, how did you secure the wire into th deck? How can you be sure the tension on the deadeye wire won't pull the wire out?

Tanks,

Alan

Hello Alan;

Good question.

At this stage, the deadeyes are only temporarily positioned, so I don't know if the tension will pull them out.  I am planning on CA glue at the base and at the rail level.  I will probably do a mock up when the time comes, and subject a test deadeye/ chainplate assembly to increasing tensions until failure; and then I might have to adjust my strategy to compensate.  I'll keep everyone informed when it's time.

(At my speed, everyone will have probably figured out better methods...)

I also was concerned when it came to mounting the main rail that I would have to put reinforcing pins through the bulwarks to affix the rail.  When all was said and done, with all the trim panels, topgallent rail, and what-nots installed, the whole bulwark/panels/rails structure proved to be incredibly strong.  MUCH more strong than I would have guessed... I'm hoping the trend will continue with the deadeye assemblies....

Hey Guys, my move is a ways away, but the first thing I need to do is organize the ships, the materials, and the tools.  These are the most delicate parts of the move (except for us humans and the birds..!)  This is why I stopped working on the ships.  I will resume this summer in a better location (Lincoln, Nebraska).  I may be here in Colorado for a few more months, but I am packing away the ships;  I'll resume when I get to my home state.  I'll try to keep in touch during this process, but its not the same when we were all working collectively.

Best wishes to everyone, and happy modeling...

Your Friend,

Always hated moving myself. Done it twice in the last 3 years, so I can sympathize. Hope it goes smooth and well for you.

"The U.S. Government designated Lincoln in the 1970s as a refugee-friendly city due to its stable economy, educational institutions, and size. Since then, refugees from Vietnam settled in Lincoln, and further waves came from other countries. More recently, Lincoln was named one of the "Top Ten most Welcoming Cities in America" by Welcoming America" (Wiki).

I'm 75 now and I decided to only move finally when I'm in a wooden box. And I just realised I must update my avatar; up to now I accumulated a lot of years and a lot of weight.

Thanks, Jan;  Lincoln has been consistently in the top 100 cities to live in the US.  When you've lived there for most of your life, you tend to think the grass is greener on the other side.  It's not.  No wonder the richest man in the world lives in Nebraska, and stays in Nebraska (Warren Buffet).

To all my Friends at MSW;

I owe everyone an apology.

This is not a forum for bickering..

Our Friend Nenad has loved ones that are struggling.

Let's all realize what means the most in our lives, and the irreplaceable.

Please, Give the best to those we love.

You don't owe us an apology Bob. More times than not, life just isn't fair, and sometimes it helps to just vent. I know this first hand. We've all been pulling for Nenad, and he knows we all care, and we'll offer up all the support we can. We all have our crosses to bear, but having friends here takes at least some of the load off.

Cheers

GEORGE
