Hi to all.  I have recently started on the Occ Cre Polaris as a first build.

About 50 years ago I built a lot of Airfix and Revell plastic kits as a kid but wooden building is a new, daunting and fascinating challenge.

As I’m waiting for a cataract operation I’m finding the rope work and blocks quite challenging even with an illuminated magnifier!

I only discovered this site when most of the way through the build, so won’t be posting a log though intend to do so for the next one, which will probably be the Dusek Golden Hind.

Thanks for all the tips that I have read so far and it is so good to come across a web community which encourages and doesn’t carp or criticise.

best wishes to all

Bob

Hello Bob and a warm welcome from a very wet Sussex.

Polaris is popular, there is always room for another should you decide to start a log for the balance of your build.

Regards,

Bruce
