OMG

That was hiding in your closet?

I've got to go check mine!   😁

I haven't followed plastic models, but I think I'll join you.

This looks interesting.

Yes, there's more in there. Needs an inventory. 🙂

A couple of findings, stern is the wrong shape, not sure what's with these trumpet barrels? Pretty sure she wasn't equipped with giant blunderbusses.. 🙂

Dryfit shows detail is pretty coarse. Removed and puttied funnel platforms.

Stern walkway will have to go too..

Yes, this one was designed back in the age of aztec stairs. The flared main battery is unique. Hopefully you run down a replacement set of turned brass or replce the complete turrets with 3D prints.

Thanks,

It is quite rough.

Photoetch set is a bit old too and a bit sparse on the instructions..

Dryfit of stern gallery to make sure hull shape is ok:

I remembered having fun and games with the stern gallery on my Warspite build  - raillings and roof struggled to agree where to meet.

Stern gallery looks like a potential tricky area to get right.

I was thinking I should not assemble it yet to get some playroom to get it to fit.

I'm having second thoughts about that now.

If I allow the vertical posts to be loose for adjustment, I'm really allowing them to move out of the vertical..

Now I am thinking that I should assemble it fully and make any needed adjustments to the hull instead..

Indecisive.. 😕

Just keep test fitting the roof part against the railings/hull  and adjust as you need to, as the railing is already glued in place  - saves you having to adjust Two seperate pieces.

You should see the unbuilt ones at my bunker...

I think almost all of us are guilty of that!

Your built ones are impressive both in numbers and from what I can see in quality as well. You should pull them out and do a photo montage so we can admire them better.

sorry for not finding time of painting my basement walls. As "the master of wood said" : Life is too short and models to many to make.

And sorry to thread starter for the off topic

The Warspite is not really a reconstruction since only the hull was assembled.

I have some reconstructions under way though. A couple of ship models got crushed during my move to Australia.

Here's a really old Victory..

I had the Heller 1/180 one. It included the tool for making rope ladders. My mother dropped it accidentally. I only partially restored it.

Sorry to hear that. Was there a lot of damage?

Here's another that got crushed. I don't have any 'before' pictures of this one, but it was worse than the Victory.

The sails were crushed and needed edge-on-edge glueing of lots of pieces. Even then some were missing and were replaced by paper.

A bit of Japanese kintsugi feel going on there, but without the gold..:-)
