Good morning/afternoon/evening all,

Getting back into ship modeling after a long hiaitus.  Went to a couple Washington Ship Model Society meetings 1999-2000, previous builds include the old Midwest kits, 1:350 Missouri, and 1:350 OHP frigate.  Working on the Model Shipways Launch with the Vanguard Models HMS Sherbourne waiting (I started and abandoned the Caldercraft Sherbourne about 20 years ago).

Served 10 years on active duty in the US Coast Guard including a couple years on the old Iris-class buoytenders.

When I am not restarting my model shipbuilding, I write poetry.  I have self-published a book of haikus in dad joke form titled "Dadkus" and if you want to see more you can go to this link for the book

The build logs from you all are really inspiring

Welcome to Model Ship World George. It seems like there are a cluster of ship modelers in the DC area.  Check out the Washington Ship Model Society,  They have been meeting since 1929.  https://www.dcshipmodelsociety.org/
