  1. I 've used parrel arrangements as indicated on fig.309
  2. Please consider the way, how to fitt them right way ! :)))😂 As usual - from R.C.Anderson book
  3. Good day, Hello, I saw this report many years ago, but the level of performance exceeded my abilities so much that I did not really care about the fate of this model, unfortunately I do not know what happened to the model after the death of the author ... by the way, recently the ideological inspirer of this site A. Dobrenko left us too ... but I'll try to ask, can anyone know anything about the further fate of this model?
  4. Good day Tomasz, All clear, thanks Your rope looks very good and it is correct shape for running rigging. All the Best! Kirill
  5. I RECOVERED WHERE i saw it http://forums.airbase.ru/2009/04/t66930--postrojka-modeli-katti-sark.html
  6. Good day, I have to remember and try to find it...where I saw it,may be it were some kind of specifications in a few volumes, what were done... can't clear remember :((( I will revert later on ...
  7. Aha.!!!.. very agree!!!... it would be very interesting!!!! But where it could be found?... I think this people who involved in restoration works never visit ships models sites ? :))) than there should be another, more serious resourses exists ? I knew There are many publications about 16-17 th centures archeologicals works we could easily found in the internet ...same should be exists in later investigations/reconstructions ... in Cutty Sark reconstruction at least... oh... \I remember there were published some works in a few volumes about CS reconstruction jobs but unfortunately |I don't have this works and I'm not sure which reconstruction periods it was consurned...first or second ones, after BIG fire?
  8. Good day Tomasz, Did You mean this arrangements? One,4th sheave of the knight need to be left free - it is used for top rope
  9. more accurate , for this period , mast and top mast connection made by garlands, means connection made permanent ,at least is not supposed to be fast lowering as in later period ,when top rope was implemented / and mast cap looks specific shape ... it should looks like this
  10. Good day Tomasz, Have question , for what there is one more running end of the tie halliard , as seems on the foto there are two? but tie halliard is a single rope ... Knight with 4 sheeves may be correct - on Your model mast cap is continental form/type (which is not correct for this ship, but choozen by kit maker as I understood)) but not in english style as it should be/it should be like a half brick ... and such shape and method of connection mast and top mast (moveable)suppose the top mast could be lowered ... in such case , 4 sheeves in the knight quite reasonable...4th sheeve could be used for top rope...
  11. I think there is (Mondfeld) somthing wrong with arrangements of fore and main backstays poz 17,35 - they should be shifted in this period and secured in different way - see Anderson book for details
  12. GOOD DAY , Dear Tomasz, I would recommend to forget this strange rigging diagram from the kit but better to use rigging diagrams from other sources, which are made with more historic and professional accurate :))) Well known Mondfeld 's GH rigging diagram for example...? Did You found that Anderson book which we told about in the beginning of your building report? There are presision information regarding all rigging questions including You mentioned which couldn't be found... such as fore top mast stay lanyard - belaying point will poz.18
  13. Dear Bruma , Buitiful progress! Looks Great!
  14. Good day, Thanks ,Wellcome ...I didn' t mean hyper of couse :))) *garlands - yes , interesting detail , I think it should work well in case of Revenge rigging details !!! as I understood , in that period , there was not used castoms to lowering topmast in case of weather getting worst or some other reasons ///and top mast was secured to the mast in some way of permanent securing - such as "garland" ? such type of connecting mast and top mast we could see almost on all contemporary galleon's pictures ... *I think water line in the form of modern meaning was not exist in that time /// doubt You shoud to show it on the model, just one of the variant You should paint under water part of the hull entire in @dirty yelowish white color@ or dark brown color , whatever You like ... my private opinion, for elizabethian galleon most suitable will be " white" colors than dark brown Actually , to be history accurate , ther was special procedure and materials used for protecting underwater part of the vessel in that period , and after completion it doesn't look the same as the above water part of the hull at all ! May be there is sence don't worry too mach about wood grains?
  15. Dear Tomasz, I don't have model building experience at all , exept maybe assembling a few plastic models ... but this is a big difference compare to wooden models buildings ... but during assembling my model I knew somthing/a little bit ,about galleons, which I could share with You ,if I see something which need to be commented by my opinion :))) but of couse it is only my comments Actually , as I found later on , there is some/a lot of information about galleons in free access in the net
  16. interesting fact, how real deck planking looks like on 17 th century vessel - Vasa deck as example far from "ideal" lines of present day model's deck :)))
  17. Yes! Absolutely agree with this...I think as soon we already discussed it, we knew about some points, and now need just continue building...and finaly to complete it! :)))
