nice find Keith- i have an old railway oil lamp made by Adlake with a yellow (caution) lens but it does have a crack on the lens and i had to source a new wick holder (the oil tank is original though).

who said building a model of a ship with lots of available photos would make life easier! 😁

Yeah i noticed the same differences on various photos- also the ladder accessing the bridge is as depicted by billings/ constructo but on some pics and the heller model they lead on to the bridge itself running fore/aft. I think the pic with no bridge is her original style as it would make more sense to add a bridge than to remove it (the photo also looks more 'grainy')

Ty Greg- as you can see there were a few amendments as more info came to light.

progressing nicely Greg- i still find it interesting how similar this kit and the Billings kits are regards deckhouses/ bridge etc- main difference is how the hull is planked (just the standard rough billings planking strips).

It's amazing how with just a little alteration and basic scratch building you start having a model that looks like Terror- Keith S, Daniel D and myself altered the skylights by various means to get away from the prison style bars look!

i use Evo-stick fast grab wood glue - takes longer but if the 2nd planking is of decent wood with a bit of pre bending and some dressmakers pins a few planks at a time can be used.

seeing your finished model is a pleasure! full of added details, seems another kit and it speaks a lot about you, the attention to the details are awesome; you must to be so proud! i can't wait yo see your next ship 🤩
Thanks Geo- i thought you would like the finished ship- many thanks also go to Craig (A.K.A. i must be crazy) who helped Keith S and myself sort out the conundrum regards the azimuth compass and the post it sits on.

As you state starting to look very busy- still think you went with right decision in not plating the lower hull as the varnished wood and painted wood really compliment each other.
