I am guilty of doing exactly what most of you have warned begginers to not to - picking hard kits to built. Started a few Polish Shipyard paper sailing ships ( i was mesmerized and obviously wanted to try) failing misserably, but learned a great deal. With paper its easy, i build from copy (original kept for retirement) so printing replacement is easy. For the wooden kits i went for deagostini victory. Thats my current build. I have sodomised the hull, but have managed to rectify most of the offending bits up to one: the hull is twisted. Not badly but its there. That i cannot fix as i would have to start again and frankly, i cannot be bothered. This kit is for learning. I spen only about GBP200 to get it so it doesnt bother me. As a side build i picked 18century long boat... and that is a mistake. Even though its well documented kit, has been finished plenty times i cannot get further than starting to plank. Its too flimsy for me. So put that aside, the whole experience also depends on how big your fingers are

Some of you guys may have noticed the announcement on my website about the ropewalk availability.  Its been a while.   Long story short,  yet another supplier who discontinued making all the gears and all of the hubs and hardware I used to make the ropewalks.  No warning...they just discontinued them.

But fear not....I have sourced new gears and hubs and hardware.  Of course they are a different pitch diameter and with a different hole configuration etc.  Basically I had to redesign the entire ropewalk.  It is essentially the same machine as the size of all the parts just changed.   But new drawings and files were needed.

I did make the Rope Rocket a bit taller in this new version 2.0.   I also added some bearings.  This makes for a quieter machine and imagine it will also extend its life.  Although nobody makes as much rope as I do on these things.  In fact I am still using my 8 year old version 1.0 machine and its still kicking after hundreds of miles of rope.

I am putting the new version 2.0 Rope Rocket through its paces right now.  Its all going rather well.  Like I said its the same basic machine.  The gears are about 2mm larger in diameter this time.  Here is a pic of a freshly made machine.  I must write new instructions.

You can still swap to a 4 strand rope as well just like the original.  These two pics show the bearings in position which makes for a smoother ride.

So if you were waiting for the new V2 Rope Rocket,  it wont be long now.  I just have to write the new assembly instructions and make a bunch of them.

Same great taste!!!  You really wouldnt notice any change if you dont have both versions.   Makes pretty fantastic looking rope....same operating instructions.  slightly different assembly instructions.

The downside....its $8 more expensive than the original version 1.0....Of course it is, LOL
That just couldn't be avoided in this day and age.  Supply chains is a real tough nut these days.

And yes I kept the fun imagery of the Rocket on the back side of this version.    I didnt bother adding a finish to this v 2.0 test but its the same beautiful solid cherry.  Maybe I will give it a coat of wipe on poly....but mine will get bloody filthy in a few weeks anyways.  So it doesnt matter.

It seems Montañes is not replying to our questions, simply because he does not understand.
I understand, that english is main, if not the only language, this forum should be written in. But we all are loosing on the language barrier. I propose a split posts: part english, part native language of the builder. That of course only for those who dont speak, read or understand english.

maaaslo got a reaction from BLACK VIKING in Pinta by Maaaslo - Shipyard - 1/96 - card
Since the scale is so small i was looking for a good substitute for the sails that used to be sold as extra for this model. Obviously out of stock so had to look elsewhere…
    behold, the new sail stock…

feels a little… vaxy but takes glue and pencil. Stiff enough to hold the shape. Easy enough to work with. As its paper, all holes had to be reinforced with superglue and drilled with 0.6mm drill to take thread.

Well my second ship is finished. And I really like it, I can see the difference between the two ship ,the Santa Maria  was fun but frustrating because it was my first and I had to learn lots. The second ship was not as bad mainly because of the help I received here at MSW. So thank you all, to the  moderators who had to fix all my mistakes, thanks for changing things when I need too.
To @mrcc thanks for the tip on
GAC 400, every time I use the product I will think of you buddy, .also to the people who take the time to do the logs @maaaslo all though his is a card model of the Pinta, his details helped me to see where things go.And  @igorsr his log was a big help for running all the rigging lines. Thank you all so much!!!!
So I took the Pinta up stairs for a couple more pictures before I put it in the display case.  I had to take picture before I put it in the case because the reflection was bad.
It looks great beside my Santa Maria though.
So my friends thanks for all your help so great full for showing me how to build ships, for all the like and comment's
You see this log is all ready mark Finished,  thanks @ccoyle.
Well this one comes to a close , I promise my niece Hannah I would make her one so that's next. I have started the Mayflower  but when I finish the Hannah I want to make LA Nina  so I can finish the fleet of Columbus  ships . Ok thanks all who ever posted in my logs.
      So THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!

largest scale Shipyard does is so called SuperPlans edition. they did 3 models. I have one of those at home. Funny enough, it is also Enterprize.  scale is 1/72. One could think your approach is even better. it will allow you to add details that on smaller scale are a bit too hard to do. At least for us, sub human. not everybody can be like DORIS, or when it comes to it, like you.
I would also reconsider leaving hatch covers opened. leaves a lot of empty room, that is calling for details, detail that you wont be able to fill anymore. decks are glued...

my hat off. you are showing some really nice progress. although, I don't think you will manage to finish this beauty in 5 months.

I have been working on this for about a month. I had to stay home with my better half due to her scheduled minor operation. So since i had nothing better to do apart from this, i cracked open a few cold ones, turned on my favorite stream and been cutting out, shaping and glueing this lovely little kit. Chosen for its lack of complicated rigging, only two cannons and easy lines of hull. I need a little practice before i jump back in to the deep end of my Victory build. And Santa leocadia, La belle poule, Lexington and tonne of the others that i have all around me. every square inch of my workshop is filled with unfinished projects...

i dont think i need to introduce this ship to anybody. Its voyage across the pond have paved way to later discovery of future Ungratefull Colonies, South Americas, great civilizations and magnificient rain forests. All sorts of things.

i have not been very good when taking pictures on every step of the journey, it was too quick to be honest.
kit is printed on good quality card. Shine is high on some parts. I like it that way, so no complain from my side. I tried my luck with touching edges, mixing shades and stuff, to little effect. I stuck to one shade of brown with a little variations. Did work mostly, but as you will notice, flash is cruel.
i have purchased laser cut details and set of frames to make my life easier. These are of great quality, although i would take a few of them off and replace them with different ones. Never mind, i managed to assemble every paper part available in the kit and am now stuck waiting for a set of masts and spars. Coming from Poland, for a hefty price of £25 p&p to UK included. Once received, i will crack on and finish this lovely little ship.

I noticed how huge the pictures were. As i have done the post on the mobile, i had no idea.
i shall redo this post as soon as i get a minute tomorrow.

Bob, thank you for the praise. I liked building this model, nice and simple. I substituted sails for the paper bag as i a)could not find the set i purchased
b)fabric is too thick for this scale.
c)i like the way it looks.
i will finish this model. Trouble is, i was forced to move household and do not have a dedicated modeling room anymore, heck i dont have a dinig table. No space!.
current stage is: all paper parts used. Currently hanging main sail, will make the yard and a sail for fore-mast. Finish the rigging and make some small enclosure. Almost done to be honest.

i remember the times when computer programs were actually simple and did what you wanted them to do. this bleeding photo app on win10 cannot do simple image resize. and the one i downloaded to do image resize have distorted the pics.
i had to re-do it again. third time. hope now its ok.

I have been given this kit a few years ago and it has been sitting in my stash ever since. I dont build plastic models anymore and since i am moving the house i need to make space.
kit is unstarted, no parts bags opened all sealed. Opened to take a picture that is it.
will accept offers ranging around 45-50GBP
still goes for 65-70gbp on amazon and other outlets.
i will post free in UK, postage to abroad paid by the buyer, same as customs or any other fees.
    any questions just ask.
oh and there are no addditional enhancing packs coming with this, i never planned on building this beauty.
