Too many entries to click 'like' on, so consider them all liked! One small point: the window frames would look much better if you squared up the corners. All the other carved work is lovely.

I drew the decor on a computer, then cut it out on a cnc machine. Then I finished it by hand.

A buyboat would go out on Chesapeake Bay to oyster boats during the season and buy the oysters and take them to market so the oysters boats could stay out and work. Doing the off season ship product up and down the bay , like watermelons to market, carrying supplies to some of the islands.

Started a Buyboat from Wye River Models today. Unpack kit, started to trace the bulkheads and cut out middle bulkhead. Trimmed keel, cut out stem brace and started to assemble. Glue keelson together , added brace for bulkhead, glued stern to keelson and added support blocks.

Hi guy's! A little over a month and 15 more frames added. Fairing continues after every 5-6 frames. I can't stress how important it is to fair as you go along. The hull shape is constantly changing, so the previously faired section needs additional work in order to match the newly faired section. Additional supports were added above the gun ports.

Ryland Craze reacted to newbee in Golden Hind by newbee - OcCre - 1/85 - improved version
Firstly I apologise for not having posted for over 4 weeks now. The last few weekends have been pretty busy and, again, after finishing work and then ship building, It's been too late to compose a new post. Any way here's my progress so far.
In the last photos I had glued the 1st planking to the rear section from the gun ports upwards. These have now been rough sanded but I am not happy with the poop deck at all. I think it needs to be wider at the (what I have previously called the quarter deck) half deck bulkhead. After much thought I decided to plank the fore deck as I am happy with the shape and I can sand the forward edge if required. this has also been sanded smooth. I next started the 1st planking of the rest of the hull. as I've decided that the only way I can get the shape of the stern correct is to build it up and then sand it again to the right shape.

The 1st stage of this was to glue the strakes between the gun ports. I decided the easiest way to do this was to use 2X 4mm strips to give the 8mm height required. This was going well until, as I was pinning the forward most lower strake the gun port bulwark gave way and pushed the false deck section out as well. As I needed to glue this back in place I tried moving it but was unable to and damaged the gun carriage in the process . I've now ended up with a large gap from having to remove them both. A small section of the outer part of the bulwark had also come off. This has been repaired using a 1mm strip cut to size. I will make another dummy carriage and fix to a thin piece of balsa wood and insert in the gap before planking it over.

As the hull is now longer than the strips of lime wood, I decided to plank the middle section first. I cut 8cm, 10cm and 12cm long planks. I intended to have the 8 cm plank running under the strake below the gun ports, but, found it was too short to pin down without one end laying on a frame. I decided instead to run the 10cm strake first followed by the 8cm with the 12 cm strake below that. The sequence then went from 8cm, 10cm and 12cm etc. I drilled 2 0.1mm holes as close to the ends as I could so the pins would not split the ends. (On my Mamoli Golden Hind I used this technique to decent effect). After this I started on forming the strakes from the forward gun port on each side. I then proceeded planking the stern section, which has almost been completed now.

I've been following since day one and I'm in awe of Leo's abilities and dedication to getting the Tally Ho back in the water as good or better than the first day she sailed long ago. There are no half measures to work that's been done on the Tally Ho, what's been done is first class. The planking was/is a great education of how to.

After painting the coaming and cabin side, I fitted and glued the starboard side first.

    Then the port side.

The cabin side needed trimmed where it met the coaming. I also glued this  one side at a time.

    the cabin bulkhead went next.

Earlier I was testing different textures I could use for added detail and glued some scrap sail cloth on the cabin roof.

    Spray painted it.

I glue a piece of wood on the rail at a right angle and rounded the corners.

the a piece of stained veneer

Cleats were placed inside against the rails to hold the door up at my desired height.

I’ve played with making some kind of handles for the doors and the live wells but none have passed the scale and QT testing I’ve placed upon them.

Uh-oh -- progress may be slowed in the short term. My boss, a former A-6 driver who shares my affection for military aviation, surprised me at work today by loaning me his copy of Dead Reckoning, an account of the P-38 mission that took out Admiral Yamamoto. I haven't read a good history book for quite some time. Of course, I told him he'll be to blame now for my increased felt need to acquire a P-38 for my stash, a purchase I've been avoiding due to the finished model's size in 1/33 scale. And no, I won't build anything in a different scale, so don't ask. 😁

Overall, I am satisfied with the way the rear wheel came out given it's a first try. Practice makes perfect and I've learned a few things giving this method a try.
Will move on to other areas of construction and continue with the front wheel later.

I just broke off two of the beautiful, curvy gunport bulwarks on my Vanguard Grecian. Grrrrrrrrrr. I had glued and clipped them carefully and then whilst placing the hull back into my keel clamper, I bumped two of the projecting small clamps and bits fell to the shop floor. An easy fix however.

These attractive design elements will draw eyeballs but also attract careless fingers!

Sorry: no photographic evidence of this cock-up!
