Pick up the Airfix B/C model in 1/48. It's supposed to be the cream of the crop. Can do a Flying Tigers B model or a Pearl Harbor C model of Lt George Welch. Or find an appropriate aftermarket sheet if those don't float your boat.

First builds of a new line can be sporting, Craig. 😄I'm thrashing with some MikroMir Russian sub kits. Limited run kits, no locator pins, skimpy instructions. How many parts can a sub have in 1:350 scale? An exercise is filling gaps with styrene plugs, followed by Mr Surfacer. 🙄

For certain. That was a horrible day, but the Intimidator did his own thing. The HANS (Head And Neck System)device became mandatory after that wreck.

Anyway, this build will be enlightening. I'll have to see what draws my attention from SalvinosJR.

That car has some wrap around head rest/support. Really restricts head movement. The drivers have to be really good scanning their mirrors. But considering the style of racing...

Another glue you might look for is canopy glue. It looks like a white glue, but handles gluing brass etch to plastic nicely. It does dry slow and if you can use some weights or clamps to ensure the parts touch. One brand is Pacer 560. You might find it in an RC airplane shop. It was developed to glue their canopies to their aircraft.

Photos like these show the relationship of the terrain with the structures and vegetation. Maps included in the various histories are good, but being able to see the entire picture really helps to understand a battle. I've been fortunate to be able to walk a number of ACW battles, such as Gettysburg, Antietam and Richmond/Petersburg. These gave me a much better appreciation of events like Pickett's Charge, the Sunken Road and the Crater. Thanks for showing these, OC.

A Flying Tigers P-40 kit was my first kit build. Raised lines to mark panels and markings. Rivets the size of oranges. I must have looked like Calvin (of Calvin and Hobbes cartoons) assembling that beauty.

I am most definitely in. Special Hobby has really upped their game with these improvements.

EG, it looks like the car frame. Tweaking the "small" changes is part of the engineering process. I like it.
