probably, they all can send photos to this forum  as long as it is .jpeg format
I do not know Android phones but photos format are probably not .jpeg
by example  Iphone are .heic which needs to be converted to .jpeg before sending it

    Beautiful work,

I like this kind of finish, in addition to be a nice color, 100 years are instantly added, and  this adds class to  a well constructed model.

I apply 1 coat of tung oil and the  wipe the surplus. I tried many other but the best results are with  tung oil.

Example on the photo, the right part  has not yet  oil.

Here are some other notes  going the same direction about beewax.

Beeswax is a component of the complex substances and contains almost 300 different substances. Beeswax becomes slightly corrosive when exposed to UV because it's a biological material and UV degrades the molecule releasing natural acids.

I think that, the corrosive effects only really matter on a really long term scale and with fragile museum items.
Microcrystalline and renaissance wax was invented because the V&A realised this fact after a century of applying beeswax to protect the nation's most precious and ancient artifacts that they had, unbeknownst to them, been applying slow acting acid.

    Hi Ron, yes I saw these but opted for Canon MP-E 65 mm F/2.8 x 1–5 x.
Here is an example of a figurehead at 1/192.

I tried a new way to take photos inside a ship with an endoscope from Amazon for $55 cdn. Wifi HD 5MP 3-8 cm. It is good for focal distance very close 3 to 8 cm only. There will be no good results for a complete deck. for this you will need a camera with auto focus capability like the Go Pro.
The camera can take photos and videos.

Building WOOD model ships is a process I enjoy very much working with wood.
Photography is also another process I like to experiment.
And lastly, milling and turning metal like aluminium and plastic is also something I enjoy. As a side note, you can turn plastic with high precision.

Just like in car products, where you cannot install a door mirror of a car from one kind to another kind; the same thing appears with photography adaptors.
Fitting adaptors or adapting some new ones to experiment further in photography  of model ship is also an interesting avenue that I like to explore.

Some examples are following to show trying to take photography a model ship and getting a photo with exactly the same colors as what you see.
Of course you do not need all these adaptors to take photos but I like to experiment.

Druxey, I have already bought a new fixture and I am still testing it.

    Wefalk,

1-LED lighting is progressing very fast. The beauty of these new generations LED panels is that they are getting closer  to a light which enables to take a photo and getting the real color of the object. Mainly, LED panels are divided in 2 groups: daylight or bi-color.

If you want to get the most lux  you will get  the daylight  option and you will be close  to the color. On the other end, if you are in a mix light situation and want to improve th quality of the lighting, you will use a bi-color light which are able to adapt to any situation of lighting between 3200 and 5200 degrees Kelvin. By example, if In a room with low quality light (for photography), you can use a light  with a variable intensity in the "quality" of the lighting. In this situation, bi-color  light is good to adjust the lighting.

Another way to face the problem when taking a photo is to get immediately to the correct lighting intensity. First by closing the low intensity lighting  which often will be close to 3200 degrees Kelvin and light up the correct lighting with the daylight panels.

2-endoscopes is a product I did not use. I do not know up to which quality they can get. By example can they go up to 4K in the quality of the photo? An endoscope is probably a good solution to get inside a 1/75 model ship. In my situation, at 1/24 scale, a larger camera can be use. For this reason, I can use a small camera action with a good photo quality at 4K resolution. I tried 2  of these cameras, a first one with 2k with mixed results and a second one with very acceptable results; a GoPro Hero 9 black. It took me a period of adaptation to get good results. There are 2 main direction that I had to improve. First lens distortion. Lightroom does fix this problem. It has correction factor f for the camera. The other factor is the lighting. To get "correct photos" you need "correct lighting". LED panel is an easy way to get there very quickly.

3- I have been searching a long time a way to suspend these LED panels on the ceiling. One day, I was checking parts used to build a drum stand assembly. 2 parts looked very interesting. bThe first one is able to hold the LED panel and the second one allows to suspend a chrome metal tubing from the ceiling and also it can be adjusted at different angles. So I did a little assembly allowing to position these LED lights in a variety of positions. This way, I can position all the light individually. This way, I can get a lighting where I need. What do I mean by "what I need"? In a way, you could say that in the workshop, there is lighting only in the work area and at a correct intensity, not over- lighted  and not under-lighted. In a way, you could compare this with a surgery room. You get as much as Lighting as you need but only where you need. There are no added benefits to over light a room. LED panels have intensity knob fo easy adjustment. This way I can use as many lights I need and never be over lit.

    Druxey,

Fresnel lights are vey interesting. You could compare a Fresnel light to a surgery light because you can adjust or concentrate the beam of light. Actually, I have an old fixture used in a surgery room. The light input in lux in very high but the quality of light in degrees Kelvin is too low. I figure that the same could apply to the fresnel light. Last week I bought a new light; a LED light with the possibility to adjust  the light beam. I am actually conducting tests to evaluate its potential.

I am actually writing a small chapter exploring ways to photograph a wood scale ship.
Taking a photo is not only about a camera but it is also about Lighting.
So here is an overview of the tools we can use:

The configuration I use: everything on wheels, this way I can set the tools as I need for every project.  Workbenches are massive and are made to build furniture. Electric height adjustable table is better suited for a modeler, one of its main quality: working at the good height as much for the hull and the rigging.

Scale is the first factor to consider. Which part with what level of details is the second one and finally what wood to use?

Roughly, we can divide the carvings in 2 parts: human with fine details like the hands and face, decorations like flowers.

There are still many experiments to be made with different woods than boxwood. Pernambuco, ivory wood could be good examples of dense wood with fine grains which could be good. The safe way to use a wood that can take small details is to use boxwood.
Boxwood takes details of a figurehead as good as  at 1 /192 and 1/24 scale. But all the carvings do not need extreme fine details. Cherry is perfectly suitable for general carvings

One last point, Color, for this build, up to now, is made 100% from cherry wood. Ideally, I would like to use cherry for all the carvings, but unfortunately this wood will not take the fine details. The same thing is true for apple wood, I tried it for another figure head.
Ideally, I would prefer the figurehead  would be, also from the same wood, as the ret of the build: cherry wood, so that int this specific build, every part could be the same color.

There are many choices that a model ship builder has to deal with and the main rule should always be: it has to look harmonious. Tree nailing is a good example. It should be visible from close but not from far. If the contrat is too big, the eye will only see the nails, not the ship.

What is the last photo? Lighting in the working area is done by 8 LED lights mainly. Lat week, Our electricity company installed new thermostats, switches and electrical outlets. Every device is controllable via an app. I used the 4 electrical outlets to control the lighting with an Ipad, near the desk

GRS makes some good vises for the jewelers. Rigidity is the first factor and the second one is the positioning. I began with  a GRS Microblock Ball Vise. Although it can take 3D positioning, it does not lock on a position. I guess it was created for the engravers making circles.
Then I tried the multi purpose vise. The vise itself is very well done and sturdy and it is done to rotate in 2 axes. Then, I discovered the BenchMate Encore QCX. It does have 3D positioning but it could be improve by rescaling some parts. Although this vise is very good for positioning, it is made to be used for a jewelers making rings, it does not have a vise. For years, I wanted a vise that could adjust in #D and always be lock. Finally, I saw that there was 2 tools which could the job, I just had to make an adaptor to combine the holder and the vise which is a screw rod between the vise and the holder. Also, this vise is easily remove from the table. A tapered plate easily hold the assembly. I can easily fix on the side of the table other combination. I did many variation to hold camera tripod heads.

With the help of his book Ships of American revolution, I jumped in the scratch built models.
I remember when I did it more than 30 years ago, It was very scary for me to enter in this category, there are so much details in the construction of a ship.
Harold Hahn even if he did simplified the details was a very good builder and carver too.
