Today is going to be a beautiful day outside so this is just going to be a quick update before I head out side to work up a thirst. Actually it is so nice I'm thirsty already!! So lets get this going
 
First up is just another way of stropping/seizing a block with a becket, here I am using the Domanoff serving machine.
 

 
As this was just for demonstration purposes I will make another one with a 7mm triple that I can actually use

Good morning all, Thanks to all those who have stopped by, left likes and/or comments.
 Just a small update. Some progress such as nailing the main rail(with .4 nylon fishing line) was a bit of a waste of time. I was so happy with the results on the companion way I thought I would do more of it not realising it would be lost in the dark grain of the walnut. Although it may look like what a house fly may have left behind the nails can be seen(if you really look close) on some of the close ups. Breast hooks, knightheads and the aft rail were also completed, I replaced the kit supplied walnut with rosewood for these. Another detail that is hard to notice is the rope used to tie the hatch lids together. I finally put my Syren serving machine together and decided to serve some line for the first time and give it a try. The line served is just normal sewing thread and I used the same thread for the serving, the final rope measures approximately .5 mm and again you have to look real close. 
 

An eye was seized in one end of rope then the other end pulled through and tied off with a couple of half hitches

Hey Eddie, how are you doing(Canadian translation) Welcome to the elite band of MarisStella builders, you are in for a good time with this build. Good to hear this isn't your first build as this kit is further advanced than a beginners. The contents look real good in this kit, as do all their kits, you will enjoy the dowel system they use for the bulkheads as it squares things up and gives so much strength to the model. If I was to give one piece of advice for your build it would be to study and understand the plans. MarisStella plans are so detailed, accurate and full of information they really are all that you need to complete your build. If you have the room it is best if you can have them side by side(2 in your case) it is then you can really see the relation of things to each other, this is something I learned much too late on my Trabaccolo build.
In the meantime I will be happy to follow along. There is lots of help here but do not forget about Zoran at MarisStella he is so knowledgeable about his kits and is always there to help you out.

Hello All, Thanks to all those who have stopped in, given likes and for all the compliments. 
 With this post you may have the idea I am stalling on cutting open and planking my deck..............you are right!! But it hasn't been a total waste I have accomplished a little. 
 

 
Here I am making the porthole covers for the forward hatch, Simply a walnut dowel drilled out, then shaped with a sanding stick then parted(the wire is held in place to stop the piece from flying away)
 

 
I apologise for the lack of pictures but here it is almost complete with covers attached. The trim is walnut from the kit then finished with cherry. The front step was an addition I added as the height of the ledge would have been almost two feet, much too high when one's belly is full of grog or probably wine in the Adriatic    
 
 
 

 
Here I have laminated some 1.5 x 5 mm cherry then cut to size for the doors. Also I have made the hinges still needing some cleaning up and paint.
 
 

 
Doors attached and working. I first tried brushing on wipe on poly but not paying attention I broke off a door. After repairing door I decided that spraying was a safer option, so it has four coats in this picture

I just got this machine a couple of weeks ago and will say it is a real pleasure to use. Extremely smooth running and easy to use and with the attachments that are included more than just serving can be accomplished. With the quality of this machine coupled with Alexey"s customer service you just can't go wrong.
