The mizzen mast in the picture above looks like its not sitting vertical on the ship. It looks like it has an inclination towards the ship's stern.... but it doesnt! I saw my upload myself and went at once to have a look on my build... no the mast stands 100% verticaly 90°... ufff everything is fine... its just a visual illusion made through the angle by which I took the picture!

It seems am really sailing her... its a great feeling! Today I started playing with the though the build is comming to its end. 18 months is a long time.... I never believed I was going to see her finished. And thats because most of the builds in our blog start and remain unfinished. It has been a great experience and fan... I enjoyed every moment.... I still do. The sails will finished this month or latest beginning of Oct.

@Dutchman Thankyou my friend. The GAC 400 its working fine. It seems am going to finish Hermione in this month. Its been now about 18 months that am working on her. I started this build in March 2017. I never put it down all this time... I only reduced my working time during the presidential elections campaign from September to February, a few weeks when we had guests at our house and a few other weeks as we have been in vacations. I ll try to figure out how many working hours I had. I guess about 15 to 20 hours a week, when I worked more intense.

@Richmond Thank you Sir, am happy you liked the colors because it has been a long way until I came up with these colours and paint work. To that I have to thank a gentleman from Artesania Latina, Mr Juan Suarez, who has send me all the required details concernig the original colours of Hermione.

if you have the A/L model there is a list in the kit which are the original colors used for the replica. This list was taken out from the drawings (now in Greenwich museum) of the original ship. The list refers to "Pantone" color numbers, but a model designer of A/L was kind enough to send me the coresponding "Vallejo" paint numbers. So if you need any of the lists please tell me so. Christos

The picture below shows the sail system am aiming. Its called "broad reach" with the wind coming from behind at an angle, the sails over starboard side (picture) and the mizzen's gaff furled. (The flag shows the direction of wind.) In picture below the wind blows over starboard side... am setting my sail system in the same way, but the wind blowing instead over port side. This is due to the way am going to display the finished model at the end.

The Burbon's royal flag is flying on the flagmast. The General Lafayette as royal envoy, was on board of Hermione, ferried to America. It was in 1780 when Louis XVI sent General La Fayette, carrying the "French reinforcements secret news", to George Washington in Boston, during the American Revolutionary war... And a detail 😊: On the drivergaff is flying a small flag of Cyprus.... Its the courtesy flag of the home port... thats here in my haus, where this model of Hermione, is at the moment visiting!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
