  1. I had a similar thing happen on a kit I was building except it was only one bulkhead and it was too small. I was able to pin a batten along the hull and form it to all of the other bulkheads. Then I just relocated the too small bulkhead Toward the stern, (about 1/4 inch I think) until it also touched the battens and allowed a smooth hull shape when planked. no other cutting or alterations were required for that part of the hull. It came out perfectly when planked.

  2. I think that if I was sharing my model sailing space with Alligators then I would want much more than a few pea sized depth charges! Unless they were nuclear! I think I saw somewhere on YouTube where some guy was playing Catch-me-if-you-can like in a bull fight with his Go-fast electric boat while filming it with a drone. The Gator came close several times and it looked like the boat was going to be a goner. Your Corvette may have a longer lifespan if you keep in on the shelf!

Well, you could always fly off!

They did that whenever possible anyway. If they didn't then the planes seldom survived the first salvo of the main guns and would not only be destroyed by the blast but often caught on fire as well. Even 5" guns in the right location like those mounted on US treaty class cruisers could, and did, blast destroy the scout planes on board.

I am really liking the looks of this ship RGL, they were truly graceful looking ships.

I suspect the twin gun installation was the most frequent but I am going to use the singles that I have.

Great looking build. It has been following your learning curve and progress. It would have been nice to see it as an RC ship but that's just me. You are doing fantastically.

I suspect that in real life what guns were put on in the small calibers was just as you have done, what was available on that day and what the Capitan was able to steal.😁

Besides anyone willing to stand in an open helicopter door and fly around at 120 kts at less then 100 ft altitude is entitled to ask any question they want to.... They've earned the right..

Oh heck, that was the best job around considering where I was.

What other job can you think of where everyday you get to zoom around the tops of trees at hot rod speeds with the wind in your face making a bunch of noise? In addition you got the benefit of getting to shoot a machine gun and watch the tracers arc out and hit the target just like at the fair only with lights. And lastly on hot days, (Like most of them were) we carried our own fan.  😁 In addition we were paid an extra $120 each month, ($55 combat pay and $65 flight pay) tax free for doing it! You could live on that, and I did, sending the rest back to the world. In many ways it was a simple life, eat. sleep fly, fix, clean and shoot! Rinse and repeat as necessary.

I really don't think I'm ever going to hear one either...

That is because people like me can be so stupid that they are not even aware that there should be a question so don't ask it.

I have been trying to gather the proper documentation and fill out Government papers for most of the week now using instructions that were clearly not written for the 26 pages of document I have been filling out, or written by an idiot, or both. It appears that the only way to get ahold of someone in Homeland Security Immigration is by holding a séance, or possibly getting arrested by them. "Submit in triplicate" is a term I have not heard since my military days but they use it so much I think it must be a stamp that they just pound the form with randomly. I have reached the point that as I cannot find a way to actually contact a human that I will just have to submit the forms and documents and cross my fingers that I guessed correctly.🤔

  7. I think I read somewhere that the Stuka had a support rod that would hold the stick in a climb position when set. At the end of the dive the pilot would set this lock and it would hold the recovery even against the steepest pull out and more importantly if the pilot blacked out from the G forces. I'm not real knowledgeable on German aircraft but that was what I read.

Nice hobby store you have there ! 😁😇

I agree not many have a larger stash than I do but in this case I am hopelessly outclassed.  Heck there are hobby stores with smaller inventory.😁 You do need to organize your shelfs before posting pictures though into sections of aircraft, armored, cars, ships, etc. That way I can shop easier. It could be possible you may have to either raise the ceiling or lower the floor if you get any more.

I also think that you have found the sure way to hide new models from the wife. Once they get in there she will never see it. It will be like ET in the toy pile!

Lou, have you got any brittle spare?😋

You are so late getting here Edward that I only have part of a bag out of three left. 🤔 But the good news is that my wife goes back to Leavenworth in a month or so and will be sure to restock my supply. Any requests for special flavors?

I have had many years learning to perfect this skill but remain a novice compared to THE mentor, Senior Drill Instructor Lee Ermey.

That was what always astounded me about our drill instructors in basic. They could get in your face and go on for minutes about how you, and your ancestry, were were less capable than the common worm and never once use a swear word.

  11. I think that has to possibly be the most busy and detailed out-of-the-box tank I have ever seen and your build is masterfully executed yet again Craig.

I was wondering if they still used a barrel clamp and I now see it on the right rear corner. Seems like kind of a strange location rather than on the centerline as normally seems to be the case on other tanks.

  12. Got my hammock and brittle. Where do you want me?

Models that bring stories to mind are the best kind. Looking forward to both the build and stories. If it were not for spell checker I would be much better at spelling and would not have to edit quite as often. It seems like I never catch it until I hit the save button.🤔
