  1. Thank you all for the likes and for stopping by! One rough stitched set of sails: Next up, reefing points and bolt ropes!
  2. Looking forward to seeing this build! Are you going to carve your own decorations for this one, like you did on your Soleil Royal?
  3. The fore top sail is done! Only the jib stay sail and jib sail remains!
  4. Making progress: The main sail still needs reefing lines and a bolt rope, but I’ll assembly line those and do all of them at once.
  5. Thank you all for the “likes” and for stopping by! I am still working on the main sail slowly. I decided today that I am also going to make bolt ropes. I keep improving and getting more in depth with every model.
  6. Ingrid And Other Studies is $21 plus $14 shipping on Abebooks Plate V of the History Of American Sailing Ships by Howard I Chapelle shows a single seat of ease to either side of the bowsprit, on the head, on the Prince De Neufchatel. Please ignore my notes. This was my copy that I used to build the hull of my model.
  7. Still busy, but Hannah is back in work. I’ll be back to working on Victory soon enough.
  8. My method for making sails: I have a sewing machine that I have never used. When I get around to finishing the Victory I’ll learn how to use a sewing machine.
  9. Fore and aft sails templates test fitting: I adjusted the jib sails a bit to allow a bit for variation due to rescaling errors. I still need to make a template for the fore top sail. The rigging is one of my favorite parts of the model. Detailing/fitting out the hull is my other favorite part.
  10. I think that Hannah is ready for sails and the running rigging. I do not think that I have missed anything. I do know that next time I need to plan out the running rigging better. If I am going to use one of the plans from the Hahn books or an AOTS, then I need to study a better belaying plan, or generate my own, and plan accordingly. Thankfully, this was a schooner and not a larger warship. I need to install deck blocks BEFORE I put in masts and standing rigging. Oops. Oh well, lol. We will call this one a lesson learned. I share it to help others avoid making the same mistake. On to sails!
  11. The jib stay is back up: The standing rigging is back to being finished. Time to finish installing the rest of the blocks for the running rigging. Then, it will be time to make sails!
