And yes, I did catch that it was upside down, before the epoxy dried.

That could have been bad.

Need to pay closer attention to detail.

I hope there are not too many more of those rings to make.

I must have a couple dozen of them on the floor.

They are no that easy to hold on to while trying to thread them on the eye hook.

I think I need to invest in some pliers for jewelry making.

Mine are just too big to handle the small rings.

One side down, one to go.

Now that I'm using the 28 gauge wire, I was able to make them smaller.

That's about as small as I can work with. I wrapped the wire around a 4d finish nail and used  pair of micro snippers to cut them free.

I was using the thicker 22 gauge wire before.

Split rings added to 4 eyebolts.

I don't think I can make them any smaller.

Still need to solder them shut.

How do others make these smaller ?

Pintles and gudgeons are installed.

Started painting decorative carving and quarter badges.

Started working on the pintles and gudgeons.

I liked how _SalD_ did his and I'm trying to replicate what he did.

This was my 5 attempt in trying to solder the peices, it seems to be alright, the hinge actual works.

Good thing my local hobby shop stocks the brass strips.

Copper plating of the hull finished, will need to roll over a couple of the bumps still.

While not a 10 on the plating, for my first effort I'm pleased with the result.

Need to work on the rudder next.

Completed 1 side of the copper plating and now starting the other side.

Now that football is over and my son has been accepted to his preferred college,

I should have more time then I've had the past few weeks.

There was nothing that came with the kit to make a stand.

I've been debating  whether to get a pair of brass pedestals and mount to a board or make my own cradle out of wood.

Progress is slow, between my younger son's football and applying for his College this has taken most of my time lately.

I did mange to copper plate over 1/3 of one side of the hull.

The best advice I found on this site, not sure who said it. "Treat every piece of the build as a small project in itself."

I didn't have all the skills or knowledge starting out to complete everything I have done so far. Just take it slow and ask questions if not sure.

The response to questions from this community is fantastic.

Over 1000 copper plates have been stamped and cut out.

First few plates are installed.

Creating the copper plates is going slow. I have about 250 done so far.

Been debating to build the jig for the copper plates or not.

This is the result of just using a pounce wheel I got from Walmart on the copper tape.

It doesn't look all that bad.

From a foot away they look great.

You could always make a copy of the plans if the bulkheads with the reference lines are on the plans and glue to the bulkhead

with rubber cement.

That is coming along fantastic.

What paint did you use for the inside of the boat ?

It looks great, I have the back of my Syren that did not take the stain so well and may want to paint it that wood color.

Deck was fine sanded and stained with golden oak, waterway has been added.

It looks better in person than than the pictures show.

Planking of the deck is complete and rough sanded. Still need to add the waterway.

The nibbing of the planks on the starboard side improved over what I did on the port side.

Doesn't look so bad 2 feet away.

You are right about the number of articles and books to come up to speed on this build.

If I studied this hard in college, I'd be retired by now.

But this is so much more fun.
