Great story! I have the Revell 'Connie' in my stash, when I build that kit, it will be the second time since I was 12, many moons ago. The kit you are building is an improved kit with the correct four decks. There was a kit that had only three decks before, I guess there were complaints about accuracy.

You are doing a stellar job on this build, I have wanted this kit ever since this 'correct' kit has been issued. Can't wait to see more!

I have made some progress on this build. I painted the underside Classic Blue, which is a light gray with a hint of blue and I did not take a photo. However, I did take a photo of the White Sand topside base color and the masked off Forest Green color, I will post a photo when all the masking is off -

I have been working on the Arizona! I cut out the MDFB to fit the model, ball parked the water depth, added two PVC pipe fittings to add some detail to the 'holes' and put some black primer on her.

Alan, if you or anyone viewing this post, has 1/600 or 1/700 aircraft, any era, I would take them. I am building a 1/72 War Museum diorama, and these make great model planes in a model display case!

I apologize for the delay in updates, I have been trying to figure out how to shape the hull like this. I will post how I did it soon!

I'm converting the large motor launch into SP 545/USS Idaho, as it was the closest in size, anyhow, the plastic gods should be pleased, as well as me. Great Job!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
