    hi jay yes lovely set of detailed plans with colour scheme , details of all the flags and pennants and yes copious ammount of drawings for the plethera of carvings. unfortunately i dont have the carving skills to do it justice...and the time as i have too many other projects to do. cheers....mick

    HI ALL I HAVE A SET OF PLANS THAT I WONT HAVE TIME TO DO ANYTHING WITH.........AS PER TITLE. I GOOD CONDITION COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL BINDER. DETAILED SET OF DRAWINGS FOR A SMALL YATCH WITH PROFUSE CARVINGS. IVE ATTACHED SOME PHOTOS SO YOU CAN SEE WHATS ON OFFER. I AM QUITE PREPARED TO POST ANY WHERE ON PLANET EARTH SO LONG AS POSTAGE IS FULLY MET. I SUPPOSE A SET OF PLANS LIKE THIS WOULD BE QUITE EXPENSIVE TO BUY THESE DAYS SO AM IN A BIT OF A BIND AS REGARDS WHAT PRICE TO ASK. £40 PLUS POSTAGE TOO MUCH? SENSIBLE OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED!     hi kurt modelmakings been severely hampered by a new shift pattern at work......more appearances required,less time off , slightly shorter shifts. result is less time in the shop....very annoying. however i will have to content myself with shorter stints at the workbench once all of lifes other responsibilities have been met. thanks for the kind words...i hope to have another installment ready soon! cheers....mick

    hi carl its about time i managed to get back to building.....suffering from withdrawl symptoms. i will still have to suffer this stupid shift system till the end of the year probably....so not a lot of time to spend butchering wood. i have checked out your latest endeavours with your musashi build........origami with microscopic pieces of brass!!!! and i thought 1/48 scale period ships were fiddly. respect mon brave!!!! cheers....mick

    HI ALL MANAGED TO GRAB SOME MODELMAKING TIME OVER THE LAST WEEK.......NO WORK! NICE LITTLE BREAK. STOVE HAS BEEN PAINTED AND PUMP WELL AND SHOT LOCKERS FINISHED. TIME TO START ON THE MAIN DECK. BEAMS HAVE BEEN PREFABRICATED FROM SLIGHTLY THICKER STOCK AND SANDED TO SHAPE. BASIC RUDDER ASSEMBLED JUST NEEDS THE IRON WORK DOING. PRECUT SOME HOLLY READY FOR TURNING THE HOLD PILLARS. TREATED MY SELF TO A NICE LITTLE SHERLINE SELF CENTERING CHUCK........OUCH A TAD PRICEY IN THE UK!!!! BUT INFINITELY SUPERIOR TO THE FAR EASTERN OFFERINGS. THATS ALL FOLKS...FOR NOW AT LEAST.     hi nils try proctor enterprises 35900 indusrial way suite 401 sandy oregon 97055 usa seem to have quite a diverse range of turnbuckles....intendended for the r/c flying brigade....but in brass and with a variety of end types.....screw thread is 1/64 so approx 0.8 mm. just a thought. cheers.....mick

    Hi chuck The copper bolts are something of an experiment.The Wales are ebony and I didn't fancy making ebony treen ails....the copper will blacken with liver of sulphur without staining the ebony.....once done I hope they blend in...I still want them to be seen but in a more subtle way. They may well have bolted in practice as the full size timbers are 6 inches thick. Hope this plan makes sense. Cheers...mick

    HI KURT FEEL FREE ON USING MY DIGIT AS A GUIDE ON WHAT NOT TO DO WITH HOT BITS OF BRASS! HOPEFULLY NO MORE "ACCIDENTS"!!! IM TEMPTED TO LEAVE THE STOVE AS BRASS.......BUT HISTORICAL ACCURACY HAS WON THE DAY.......BLACK IT IS. THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS. CHEERS....MICK

    HI ALL ITS ABOUT TIME FOR ANOTHER UPDATE. TOPSIDES HAVE NOW BEEN PLANKED AS HAS THE STERN ALL TREENAILING COMPETED, IVE USED 0.8MM COPPER FOR THE WALE STRAKES....WILL PROBABLY USE A DILUTE LIVER OF SULPHER TO BLACKEN THESE LATER. SOME REMEDIAL WORK TO DO AROUND THE GUNPORTS...NOT ENTIRELY HAPPY WITH THE CONSISTENCY OF THE GAP FOR THE GUNPORT LIDS. DECK BEAMS CUT READY FOR THE NEXT STAGE. AT THE MOMENT WORKING ON THE SHIPS STOVE AND OTHER THINGS BRASSY. HAD A SENIOR MOMENT A COUPLE OF WEEKS BACK.....SOLDERING THE TOP SECTION OF THE STOVE I PUT IT ON THE ANVIL AT THE BACK OF THE VICE TO COOL DOWN.....AND THEN GRABBED HOLD OF THE VICE TO TAKE SOME TUBE OUT OF THE JAWS......*$%"£!&^%*(&^%$!!!!!!!!!.....THE BRASS COMPONENT MAY HAVE LOOKED COLD BUT I RECKON IT WAS STILL A COUPLE OF HUNDRED DEGREES C. FORTUNATELY THE COMPONENT WAS OK......ONCE A FEW BITS OF MY EPIDERMIS WERE REMOVED. YOU WILL ALSO BE PLEASED TO KNOW THAT MY TIRADE OF FOUL LANGUAGE,DIRECTED AT MYSELF FOR MY OWN STUPIDITY,WAS WORTHY OF THE SALTIEST OF JACK TARS. AND YES IT STILL HURTS!!!! PHOTOS ENCLOSED FOR YOUR PERUSAL AS ALWAYS CHEERS.....MICK

    hi with regards to the wires for the stays............try www.wires.co.uk they sell pretty much everything to do with wire!! interesting and challenging project....shall be casting my beady eye on this one!! cheers.....mick
