Yes, I've referenced some in the build, but most came from the movie. You may find this helpful https://movie-screencaps.com/jaws-1975/.

Just read your log for the first time Keith; so very sorry to learn of your loss, and feel bad that I didn't take the time to follow your build until now. So pleased that you find comfort in this community, and I add my condolences to those above. I can't begin to imagine how you feel, but I do think that getting on with pratical things at a time of loss is a very good way of keeping some sense of normality and purpose; and your boat is the most wonderful creation. I will keep following from now on, and my very best wishes to you and your family.

Thanks for the kind words Chris. Look forward to seeing your build - you'll find plenty of support from the community here if you choose to post a log. Good luck!

Great job Keith - very classy looking launch. I think the rib looks fine, authentic to the original, so that's OK with me. However I know which one I'd take to the seafood restaurant in the marina...

How did I miss these final pictures - and the fly rod; just perfect! This would grace any display cabinet. Well done Gary!

Ha! A man after my own heart. I built a seagull for a Corrib Lough boat project afew years back. 2HP of reliable power. And you can start one with your belt.

That's a very accomplished build Gary, love the clean lines, details and weathering. Would love to be the paying guest (with a fishing rod) in this fine boat!

Oh I like this approach very much. Are you going to pin the planking to the ribs eventually?

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
