Thanks guys. Yeah I reckon it would be pointless on a rolling sea. Just never seen these markings and thought I'd ask.  It was a gun sitting next to the replica Amity and it had nothing to do with the ship. Just another artifact to look at

Hey all. While on a Vist to the replica HMS Amity in Albany, Southwest Australia I found a gun on display next to the ship.
As normal I pawed my way all over it and found some measure markings on the rear of the gun.
These were indented on the side.
Is this for elevation adjustments or are these for some other purpose.
I have not seen these markings before

The smallest I've made is 1/8" tube OD (1/4" cowl OD)... but they start to get a little chunky in the smaller sizes. At least they're still hollow!

Hey Mich. I like defined lines on my deck planks so I do all sides.
The photo is abit blurry but this is the result of all sides of the planks done.
When I color, I don't press too hard. Just enough to get a good shade on the edges.

I use the pencil method as described and with great results just luke Russ. Instead of doing each plank individualy, I clamp 10 or so together and color all of the sides. Alot quicker.

Thanks Ulises. The larger diameter rigging line is one length wrapt around the main mast and looped at either end and seized. Next I made up the two blocks attached to the fore mast and attached them to the large diameter rigging line using eyebolts. Lastly I attached the blocks and rigging that are attached to the deck next to the ships boats. Using that rigging I tensioned the whole assemble and belayed off.
Ignore the large diameter rigging line that runs through the middle as this is one of the mainstays between the main mast and foremast. Hope this helps you get an idea of how I rigged mine.

Great work, Scott. I love your crane/hoist rigging. My Royal Louis has this item also, so I am taking notes!!!

There is a crane rigging set up between the fore and main mast which is the last step on the plans sheet No.9. Have had a good look at it before work and will start when I get home. Trying to get everything symmetrical will be a challenge. Pics will closely followed hopefully.
