I feel ya Chris! My first attempt of the P-40 got to a point where I stopped. My second attempt is underway and hearing your story now is something I am also experiencing. Kit quality seems to matter! 😊

Happy Saturday All,
I in no way want to hijack my own thread, (but it is P-40 related), I am so pumped about getting my first card order from WAK in Poland. If you ever do this, it will come USPS and they need a signature for delivery. We were not home so I had to go down to the post office and pick it up.

Tim Allen had a flying museum in Everett Wa and they flew warbirds all the time. From my vantage point at the Boeing Everett flight line, I got to see their P-40 fly many times, as well as a P-47, P-51, Hellcat, Bearcat, Zero, F-190 and more.

Chris, I suspected that and yes I see how common that is on the digital sites. With the advent of AI coming, software improvements etc., we could hope the kits would get exponentially better. That goes for all modeling mediums and types.

Hi All,
Well I tried this before, but what the hay, let’s try it again. Same plane, same kit. Forewarning, I’m not as fast as the master on this card area forum and he has a gozillian years of card modeling time, I am a rank beginner, please bear with me. I also have probably too many other interests that do keep me occupied. Below is the kit and last year's attempt and all planes start with the cockpit, be they paper, plastic or wood.

Hi Andrew, and everyone else,
Yes the Snake build is on hold. This past winter, when I was planning on getting the shipyard resurrected, I decided to build another guitar. Last year I also ventured into card modeling (which I picked up on this forum). Spring is here now, I’m back out in the garden, tending the fruit trees and the vineyard. However, I do keep active on the forum as I love watching everyone’s work. Total transparency here, I was a plastic airplane modeler as a kid and that one never went away and this forum has a room for non-ship endeavors. I spend a lot of time there. 😀
The Snake is on one of my bench tops in the man cave and I see it every time I go in there and one day, I’ll just start working on it. 😀

It’s really all for you and the photos for us to see the work and the detail before “skinning” it, never to be seen again. 😊
