We will talk about this tomorrow evening on Skype @ Augie, I know that Mobbsie knowing about this but I wanted to see what others will saying about this. But at the end I will listen to Mobbsie ( I have to keep my friend satisfied ) ( just kidding ) ( or not ) Pfffff ( there he is again ) @ Borge, You are still around my friend ???? Thanks !!!!! I will do my best ! @ Patrick, If you find it all ready great when I only place the support beams wait till you see the windows on it !!! But thanks for the good word !!!

As long as they are no cotton balls, every thing is possible -
The support beams on the port side are on it. I painted the back wall white and lay planks on the floor. Now I can go to the starboard side and then......good question. I want to have your opinion on this. What do I do first.... The windows and painting the quarter gallery's first and then the second planking or the other way around ? Don't forget that where the quarter gallery's are coming, the surrounded area will be also be painted black.

Thanks Ben and Mark, It's really a jigsaw those quarter gallery's...... The support beams on the port side are almost on it. One more to go and then I can make a picture of it and please give me your comments then. Then I can place the walls with windows. I don't put the transom on it because I have to turn her upside down for the second planking and coppering to avoid damage.

Next problem I was trying to dry-fit the transom to see how that goes before I started at the quarter gallery's. I know from Mobbsie that he has to raise the transom a bit because it don't fit how it should be. I found out that I had the same problem. So I contacted Klaas to see what he has. In the beginning he had also that problem but he found out why and what to do. Because my bulwarks are glued in and his not, he can change it easier then I do. But there is no man over board At the end of this post you will see pictures of that. What have I ( and many others ) done. The bulwark has to go down and shaped. Now you see a gap between the planks and the plate of the bulwark. That should be closed ! So the whole plate will come down a bit just to the right hight. What I am gonna do is this. I leave the transom as it should be. So my top of the bulwark is 2 mm to high. When the poop deck is planked , I can make the bulwarks fits nicely. The only concern that I have is what about the canons on the lower deck. Try that also out and I must say. you don't see 2 mm..... When it is more, I can play with the second planking so that's also no problem anymore ( I hope ) On the pictures the transom slower then it wil come at the end The pictures are. 1 : dry-fit transom 2 : dry-fit transom bottom 3 : red line signed by Hansa to see till where I can take wood away 4 : Green line signed by Klaas to show how it should be.

Much better Hans !!! And you don't want my head as a figure head....... But maybe it is a good thing ? You are chasing the enemy away then !!!!!! -
Thanks for the help with the turning windows Guy's ! When you are working with those things you can missed something like this. Then it is nice to have a few ( 100 ) extra eyes to look at it The only thing is now that I have to take a close look with the camera and you will see all the imperfections of the paint...... I have not that steady hand that I want to play with the brush. So I keep it this way........ It's gonna be on the back with a balcony and a few other things in front so hopefully you don't see it clearly anymore...... @ Theo, Those columns are included in the kit. I have see that there are still 30 of those columns left and 32 windows to do. So sharp your glasses.

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
