  1. I use Elmers interior wood filler. It can be watered down if needed and has a good coverage rate. For smaller gaps, I use watered down pva mixed with the wood dust from the wood I have been sanding. Regards

  12. They could be wooden signs that he has scavenged to close up broken windows to keep the elements out. Maybe Engel found himself near a reclamation yard and found old shop or advertising signs that suited his purpose. Regards
  13. Build Log 5 - Cannon and Carronade rigging test. I have not had much time in the workshop for the last week and a bit. We had family visit from Germany, so time on the ship has been sporadic. I did manage to build up a jig for the rigging of my cannons and carronades. A big shout out to @AJohnson for providing me with a thread discussion on gun carriage rigging. A great help and a fascinating read. Below will show a 24 pounder cannon and a 18 pounder carronade rigged up. I have also added two pictures of the materials I used, in case that proves useful to anyone. 24 pounder. I am still undecided on adding the train tackle to the back. I think once I have added all the deck fittings permanently, I will make my final decision. 18 pounder carronade. The breaching rope is 0.5 mm thread. I have chosen not to add tackles as they looked a tad bulky to my eyes. Parts used to rig the gun carriage. . 1) Amati 2mm copper eyepins. 2) Amati 2mm brass rings. 3) Amati 0.75 mm thread. This was coated in watered down PVA and left to dry out overnight. All metal parts have been blackened using AK Interactive metal burnishing fluid. Parts used to rig the gun tackle. 1) 2mm brass wire. 2) 2x2mm Amati blocks 3) Amati 0.5mm thread. 4) Completed gun tackle blocks. Next steps will be to complete the gun wales and other deck items. Thank you for reading my build log. Regards

  15. Welcome to the forum Lovely looking Endurance. Regards
  16. Hi, You could try Amati brass rings. They are 2 mm, however you could cut them to size and then close the gap. This is what I have been experimenting with for my rigging. Below is a link to the rings, I don’t know what country you are in, however this will show you a potential option to shop around for. https://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/4000-02-Brass-Rings-2mm--100--A4000_02.html#SID=3233 You could also try brass wire. It is harder than the copper so should be easier to work with. I purchased 0.2mm and 0.3 mm off Amazon. I hope this helps Regards
  17. That Yellow Ochre really is a nice scheme on Sherborne. Great looking ship. Regards
  18. Lovely rigging there. Your ship is looking fantastic. With regards to injuries, I have a nasty habit of cutting my right thumb when removing char with my scalpel. Never even notice until I see the blood 😂. Regards
