  1. Outstanding build so far. I have really enjoyed reading through your log.

  3. Hello Maid of the Mist. Hi Maid of the Mist. I recently picked up a copy of Figureheads of the Royal Navy by David Pulvertaft published by Seaforth Publishing. I have looked for Beagle after seeing your latest post. I don't believe I can post a picture from the book, however I hope I can still be of some help with regards to the look of the figurehead as displayed in the book. The book shows that Beagle was given the fore-part of a beagle as her figurehead. It also states as you have said above, that there is some debate as to whether Beagle had a figurehead after she was converted to survey work in 1825. (Below, my poor rendition of what I can see in the book) I don't know whether this helps you or not. I hope it does, however I apologise if I have taken unnecessary space from your build log. Here is a link to the mentioned book - https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Figureheads-of-the-Royal-Navy-Hardback/p/3199 Regards

  12. Build Log 2 - Inner bulwark patterns have been sanded with 240 grit sandpaper. Bulwark patterns glued and clamped in place for 24 hours. Gun port patterns cut out and sanded with 240 grit sandpaper and files. The tops of the bulwark patterns have been sanded flush with the same method. Thanks for looking Regards
  13. Hello John, Thank you for the warm welcome. Regards Geordie
  14. Hi Russ, I have hopefully resolved the issue now. My issue was the file size of the picture. I had sent it from my phone to the laptop. Changing the size to small, has hopefully resolved this issue. Hope that helps you as well. Regards Geordie
  15. Hi Glenn, Sorry about that. I have just adjusted the size now and double checked on another device. Hopefully they are showing now.
  16. Welcome to my build log for HM Adder by Vanguard Models. This is my third ship and I have already started it. I apologise for presenting a build log that will not cover the start of construction. Before I go any further, I must extend my gratitude to @Glenn-UK, @DB789 and @ECK for their fantastic build logs which have helped me with my build so far. Here is Adder where she currently stands. Any and all advice is welcome. Bulwark patterns have been glued in place with watered down PVA (Occre PVA). After 24 hours, I removed all bulkhead tabs and sanded down using 240 grit sand paper. Using a tip from @Glenn-UK build log. I made a template of Adders deck to check the fit of my engraved deck. After adjusting the engraved deck, I then glued (PVA) and clamped it in place. Here ends my first build log post. Thank your for taking the time to read it. Regards Geordie
  17. That is a lovely looking ship. Looking forward to following this build. Regards Geordie
