  1. waiting for several weeks till winter season ends, so I can prepare the metal parts outside with a basic paintlayer with spraying the last days not so many details done, but today finish the front deck.
  2. this can also be done using a tin for vegatables with sanding paper inside and then mounted with a bold to a drilling machine.
  3. I am planning to purchase blocks at jbmodel.eu however the quantities and types I require for my Vasa are not available there. I have tried to get in touch with jbmodel.eu however still no reply are there alternative suppliers for these high quality blocks, preferable in Europe. PS: I need these for my Vasa.
  4. finally I got some time for the small items using the macro of the photo camera let's me see that I have some small repairs to do
  5. good to see that you have reposted your log here Wim. I have seen this model in real and know how small this is, it is a perfect build.
  6. This website is already in my favorites, and also their website with pictures of the scale model in 1:10 these pictures are much better then mine, which I took during my visit in November last year
  7. you are wright Ulises, that is one of the advantages of building the Vasa, it just left the yard so all painting was as it was planned by the painters. I realize this will be a big job to do all that painting, but I have no timelimit to finish the model, it should be ready before I retire in 2027 or 2029 depending on the Dutch politics
  8. I am always afraid for such damage, and I am sure it will once happen also during my building. perfect repair you did.
  9. I shall make some detailed pictures of the figures with macro on my camera. in general the figures appear to look like the original, but not so much detailed.
  10. nice done that bowsprit. I am going to use your pictures as reference for mine. I have remade the parts in wallnut wood.
  11. thanks for your comments. I have seen a build log on the old MSW, but I did not make a pdf of that log, from someone who did the same with a Corel kit. After visiting the Museum in Stockholm in November last year I finally decided to have the painting as equal as possible to the 1:10 scale model. PS: I made several pictures in the Museum, however due to the darkness most pictures are to dark. If someone is planning to go to the museum in Stockholm be sure you have a photo camera which can perform perfect pictures in almost darkness.
  12. started with the modifications of the parts of the gallery
  13. This evening I tried to locate all attributes on the Stockholm scale model (1:10). I am going to use this as a basis for the painting I will print these pictures and use these as a guideline during painting reference is made to the part numbers according the building instruction of Corel. I also marked the items in a sort box
  14. Remco, thanks for sharing these PDF files, I am enjoying your build for some time
  15. I can agree with the points you made in comparison with the Corel kit to the original. the Billing Boats kit is indead more accurate, but one remark is that the figures are made of plastic. I decided also for the Corel as I have better experiance with Corel than with Billing Boats. See my buildlog I enjoyed your modifications to the bow and the gallery, I noticed this just in time as I am starting with that part now.
  16. I will try to do my upmost to get these galleries more or less equal to the original. I realize that this will become an eyecatcher.
  17. A very nice book, published by the team who are resposible for the recovery of the Vasa over 500 pages, some impression of the book: next issue is expected for 2013, according one of the authors Fred Hockner (working in the Vasa Museum) and will be mostly about the masts, and all related details. I cannot wait to order this book as soon as it is published
  18. good to see you here, never noticed this build on the old MSW, but I will follow you, as I am also building the same kit
  19. the galleries prepared for the next step, darkbrown painted a start with the bow
  20. Hi Anja, You meant this picture: I have made this with a standard graphic editor Gimp. I am sure there is an equal program available for Apple Just check out with your graphic software how to draw lines.
